My husband is a truckdriver and tells his friends who say a real man owns a big dog that they don't know what their missing. With our three fur girls, Mandy is his pride and joy and Krissy is a Daddy's girl that sleeps on his head literally! Little Chelsey won't get out of bed until dad does. Kayla is still only 5 months so she is still deciding who she likes best.... I feed them, brush them, bath them but they all love their daddy. It is just like our kids were they were little. We had three girls! BUT our boy Teddy is a momma's boy thru and thru!!! He won't even come to daddy when called. :D I'm so glad to have a boy now...:grin2: |
My girls have daddy wrap around their little paws:animal-pa and he knows it and is not ashame of that, the other day we were to get some coffe at Starbucks and he came out with a monkey (stuff animal)for Phoebe all proud of him self and so happy that he found that for her, you guys should see the expression on his face:eyetearss |
I just got Lilly a month ago and when my boyfriend came into town last week it was love at first sight. They are both quite smitten with each other. For the whole week Lilly WOULD NOT come to me or snuggle with me. She only wanted her Pop-Pop. :p It was so cute to see how gentle he was with her and how everything was about making sure Lilly was happy and comfortable..it kinda made me love him more..he's defiantly going to be a great father  |
We have three yorkies in our neighborhood -- all two weeks apart in age. Every evening my husband takes Ollie for a walk and usually meets up with the daddy of Mickey and they walk togather and it is so funny seeing these two big men walking with these lil yorkies!!! I also will tuck Ollie into bed with me BUT if daddy is still downstairs watching tv he will sneak down and lay with him preferably!!! |
My boyfriend is like that! When we got Ariel a couple of weeks ago, he'd always say "Make sure to handle her gently" every time I picked her up. It was cute at first, but got annoying after he kept saying it. He's the one with the bigger hands, so it is I who should be telling him to handle her gently! He also likes it when I dress both dogs up all girly! He won't let me buy any clothes with "boyish" colors (blues & greens), but I do it anyway. LOL. |
Winston seems to favor my hubby for some reason...I do all the work and hubby gets all the love...sad but true. |

[F]Wow, i know, my husband is the same way. I had 2 yorkies as pets when i was growing up at my parents house. So i have ALWAYS been in love with yorkies. When i married my husband he acctually wasnt very fond of dogs. But for a birthday he gave me Coco. Well long story short, Coco is his baby. She knows when he is like a block away from home coming from work. When he walks in the door she crys to him, as if i had done something bad to her!!! LOL...He cradles her like a baby at night till she falls asleep. Its incredible.Heres a pic of it.:p [/FONT] |

Yea!!! Remy on the other hand is a mommas boy. He follows me EVErYWHERE. Litterally. When i go take a shower, he runs in and lays next to the tub till i get out. When i walk them, he wont run like coco, he stays right by my side....if i take one step he does too. When anyone trys to pick him up, he starts crying. He WONT stop till i carry him. I swear, hes like a baby!! |
My husband has always been a small dog lover (takes a real man to.... blah, blah, blah ;) ), but he is absolutely smitten with yorkies. He is the one that bonded at the breeder and picked Coby from the litter. So yeah, yorkies do turn men to mush. On an interesting side note, on the way to and from work every day, I have to pass by a truck stop. It is simply amazing the increasing number of truck drivers that have decided to take on a partner - a tiny four legged, adoring partner. They are always out there stretching their legs in the grass. I just think - what better way to make this 24 hour tough way to earn a living enjoyable than to share it with a small furry best friend?? |
Avery makes her daddy melt-he just loves her SO SO much!! He is so protective of her, always makes sure she is happy, and spoils her rotten!!:p He also Never hesitates to bring her up in conversation, with people-it is VERY obvious how much he loves his baby girl!! ..But i think there is definately a special "daddy bond", that is different than the one with their mama!! :) it makes me happy to see him with her(i know he will be a wonderful daddy to skin-babies, one day) Yay-for the Wonderful Daddies out there!!;) |
Tinkerbell has always been my baby since the day that I picked her out at the breeders. It was like she placed a stamp on me that said "I was her mommy." When I brought her home she was always connected to my hip, until......A friend from High School showed up. Yes, this is a man that is 225 lbs., shoots guns (must have 25 at least), collects knifes and swore that he would never hold my new puppy. Man did I laugh when Tinkerbell kept walking up to him wining and carrying on. LOL. He just could not do it anymore and picked her up. She here is this big man carrying this little tiny 3 lbs. puppy with a hot pink bow in her hair. He is now called her boyfriend and when anyone mentions him she gets all giddy and everything. It is just so cute. I love it when men melt to little dogs. It makes them so sexy, but that is just my opinion. |
My partner was reluctant about letting me get a puppy. I had a pet rat for 3 years who was my little baby but he died early this year. Growing up with dogs and living in an apartment, a rat was the perfect solution to my cuddly friend desire. When he died I was devestated. We moved into a house so that I could get a puppy 6 months later (but now I'm living with my Mum again until the New Year) but my partner was still little reluctant. It was mainly due to financial reasons, but I found a breeder who would let me pay her off in installments so that was a huge plus. He refused to do anything for it in regards to cleaning up after it, feeding it etc because as I wanted it, that was my job. But in the end I always get my way so I just went ahead with getting her. It was the same with the rat. He didn't want to let me get him but once I got the rat my partner was cranky with me but never took it out on the rat. BUT. Now that she's with us, he's COMPLETELY smitten! I came home after ducking out shopping with my Mum yesterday and he was snuggled up on the bed with her and both of them were sound asleep. It's very, very sweet. He has been cleaning up after her while I've been napping (I've taken to having naps during the day as I wake up early with her to let him sleep) and he's always concerned if she's annoyed when I'm brushing her and all sorts of things. He's turned to mush, but, she's Mummy's little girl and she follows me around all the time. Although she does love him, she's more into hanging out with me. Also, my Dad didn't want me to get her as I should be saving money. It took him 2 weeks of ignoring her until he cracked. Now he's playing with her all the time and he's smitten too. heh |
I am big guy, well, average guy (6 foot, 175 lbs.). I wanted a Yorkie since I dated a girl who had one when I was probably 21. I liked that little bugger, way more than I liked the girl. I finally got one 7 years later. It wasn't that I picked Lick, he actually picked me. My fiance just had to stop to look at a kitten in the pet store (no comments please) and there was a tiny little dark furball going ape poop in his cage. I went over to see what the commotion was and that was it for me. I ended up with a kitten and a puppy and a bunch of supplies for both. While the cat didn't work out so well (longhair white cat and I have to wear dark suits for work), that little furball, who grew into a 5 pound furball who still goes ape poop constatly, will always have a place in our family. To replace the cat, I ended up getting an even smaller dog, a 3 pound Maltese, who the lady swore would get at least as big as Lick. The maltese, Pinot, instantly bonded with my fiance and only tolerates me. Funny, people always ask me why I don't have a big dog. I just answer that I don't like picking up human sized poop. No one really follows up after that. |
