Patterns for clothes??? Anyone know where I can buy patterns or find some free ones online? My mom and me have been looking around and I only found one that I bought for her to make Bradley a fleece sweater. But we would like to make more stuff. So if anyone have any idea or know anywhere let me know..... THANKS :) |
I'm thinking about making toby some pajamas.... ( i feel bad coz he has a cold, gotta keep him nice and toasty) .... if you measure really good you could probably do it without a pattern, if you know the basic shape of what you want....... but i dunno, my moms the sewing expert, and i havent approached her on this point yet (she didnt seem to thrilled with my new yorkie) |
Well I had an old polo shirt that didn't fit me anymore so I trimed it a lil and made it fit bradley. My first time sewing too! Didn't do too bad. :D |
oh forgot lol tomorrow I will take pictures to show you guys :) |
would love to see them :)........... you could also use kids clothes from the "cheap cheap cheap" section of walmart.....lol (but thats only if youre on my bidget) |
Yeah I had an idea to use babby onsies (spelling) and cut a hole for his belly and butt. Figured it would be good for some pjs. |
lol...... that is EXACTLY what i was thinking, let me know if it works !!! |
I sure will let you know. I just have to see if my sister will give me a onsie or I will have to go buy some. |
My dear MIL picked up four patterns at JoAnn Fabrics...a couple were for clothes, the others were for beds, carriers and collars. If you check the pattern books, they are usually listed in the "craft section" toward the back. She has made dozens for Paris and tells me they are a snap to make. :) I'm creatively challenged so I'll take her word for it. Cheers, QTParis |
Yeah I am creatively challenged too BUT I am gonna start trying to sew since right now my mom is doing all the sewing. I'm going to the fabric store this weekend I think. orinskye: I found a onsie and some of them baby zip-up footie pj's. I had them in my attic from when I had to carry 2 fake twin babys around in HS LOL. Bad thing is one is a newborn and the other was 0-6months in size....sooo they were to small for him. So I think I need 6-9 months LOL. I am gonna see if I can pick some up this weekend. But by just tryin them on him it seems like it will work. |
thanks lisarahboo21, i think i have to wait a while though...... my pup only ways 3 pounds so far, nowhere near enough to even fit into the 0month old stuff :D maybe in a few months.... i also agree with QTParis, there are patterns, but i dont think my mom (major sewer) will make them.......she doesnt seem to like the idea of my having Toby :( |
I've been buggin bradley all night long, tryin stuff on him and trying to put a ponytail in his hair LOL....He does NOT like that. lol |
You can check Walmart or any place that has a fabric sections because I have come across quite a few Yorkie clothes paterns :) |
Simplicity and Mcall's have some patterns, and you can find them at Wal-Mart for about $1 or 2. They have clothes, bags, and beds and they look pretty easy! |
Orinskye- Why doesn't your mom like the idea of you having a yorkie? My mom is the same way. What is wrong with our moms. LOL :p |
i dunno why, she just has this attitude about him.... she likes him well enough, but she just thinks maybe ims tarting of too soon. ... i moved otu 5 months ago, my last god died on sept 11th, maybe she jsut thinks im getting in over my head? , but im the kind of person that NEEDS a dog around, what is wrong with out moms? Why doesnt youre mom like you having a yorkie? |
My mom thinks that JD and my cat Toby will not get along. She is afraid that Toby, who has been here for 5 years, will not be himself anymore and he won't come around with the puppy. I don't think so though. She will be fine once JD gets here and she sees JD and Toby will get along like brothers. :D I hope!!! |

I bought doll clothes for mine, and still too big. Darn. Everything seems too big in the stomach for one thing! I just make mine now. Takes such a small amount of material that the cost is hasrdly anything. And they are better made! Orinskye---can't belileve your mom doesn't like Yorkies. I'll bet she will grow on her. Who can't resist such a lively and loving pet? Pat |
i dont think its him personally that she doesnt like..... i just dont think she likes ME having a dog..... And before anyone freaks out it is not because i am irresponsable, neglectful, ect.... i think it is mostly because i have a lot going on in my life and she thought a dog was the last thing i needed... however i have to disagree, before i got toby i got migraines A LOT, and now i havent had ANY, he is a major stress reliever (which i need), and he makes me LAUGH (which is always good medicine for someone under stress) |
