Dry skin My puppy Tino has got dry skin and its flaking qiute a bit, the breeder said put cod lover oil in his dry food, what else can i do x:animal-pa |
I woulden't give cod liver oil, its too easy to overdose them on it IMO. Salmon oil would be better, you can't really overdose them on salmon oil as its completly natural so although I do give them set amounts, I feed safer about it. Perhaps its allergies, what are you feeding him? |
Where can I find salmon oil? My guys are kind of dry too. |

You really want to get him off the purina, its very low quality. You can gradually switch him to the new food from the breeders one. Try a hypoallergenic one, you can get one called james wellbeloved at pets at home which is pretty good. |
I give Lady 3V caps for small dogs. They are fish oil. Any online pet supply store carries them or you can probably get them from your vet, but they'll be more expensive. |
Could it be the dog dry food that making his skin dry? |

I agree. I would give regular fish oil instead of the cod liver oil and switch to a high quality food. |
Thank you i will change it x |
Hi Michelle, welcome back! :) How did the surgery go? I hope you are feeling better. I have been thinking of you. Looking forward to hearing what your Tino is up to and some more photos. Hope you can sort out the dry skin. |
My opp went okay but got to go back in for the day on the 30th oct.I have ot a load of new photos of him, click on the link and see him xx |
Hello just to let you all know i took Tino to the vets today about his dry skin and she said it was the crap food the breeder had told me to feed him on, so we`ve taken him off it and hes now on Eukanuba. |
I feed mine Royal Canin, and Sophie has a great coat, no dry skin...but Maddie has flaky dry skin...I only bathe her every couple weeks to a month, but she still gets it. I just ordered some Skin and Coat supplements for her, and I'm hoping they help... |
