Is eating grass okay? My puppy is 11 weeks and when I bring her outside she eats the grass. Is this ok or will it make her sick? |
I think all dogs like to do that. Just make sure you dont use pesticides on it. I lost a boxer once by doing that. |
Thanks! I'm new to this and worry about everything she does. There are no pesticides on our grass. Thanks again! |
If she eats too much, she might puke and you will most likely see the grass in the puke. Keep a watchful eye that she doesn't eat something else besides grass, that's hidden in your grass. |
Sometimes they eat it when they don't feel good, if they want to make themselves puke. However most of the time they eat it because its tasty :) |
I know they will eat it when the want to vomit, but I agee sometimes they just eat it because they like it. |
it might upset its stomach |
Mine try to eat grass when they have upset tummys. it helps them to puke. |
I sure hope it's OK for them cause I have two that eat it all the time. I have tried over and over to stop them but there is no way I can unless I muzzle them! :D (which I would never do!!!!) They never throw up but their stools are interesting looking at times. My dogs also like to dig up the acorns that the squirrels buried. They do try and eat them, but I always take them out of their little, busy mouths. (poor squirrels!) |

That reminds me of this super dumb squirrel that lives in the tree in our back yard. He is really fat and very un balanced! He falls out of the tree, not jumps or leaps but accidentally falls out of the tree on to our roof and it drives bella Bonkers. Well she finnally saw this squirrel outside, and she was like barking and chasing it and then it ran up the tree and bella couldn't figure out why she couldn't climb the tree. She figured that out after she was half way up the tree. It was so funny! Sorry had to share! |

Does he eat the green grass or is he playing with deader grass? I have two dogs and my older dog will eat grass that's still growing when she doesnt feel well mostly but also just any time because she likes it lol but my little yorkie (2 lber) will play with anything and everything I always have to tell her to quit eating things or take them away from her- but mainly she's just a teething puppy =) |
It's not harmful, makes the stomach feels better...Just make sure there are no pesticides!!! |
Over the weekend Winston had a bellyache and puked a few times...then he started eating grass. He doesn't do this normally, now he feels better today and is no longer eating grass. |
It's a natural emetic, so sometimes they "crave" it bc their body WANTS to vomit in order to get rid of something. |
