Diggy's teeth... Okay he is almost 7 months old now. His incisors have all fallen out and been replaced with straight adult incisors now. I think his molars and premolars are out as well. His Canines are doubled and the baby canines are not even loose! Bella had the same thing but had 12 pulled when she was spayed. I am not having Diggy neutered so my question is, At what age should i consider having them extracted? I do not want to put him under to have teeth pulled but I know all of the consequences of not having it done also. :( When having teth pulled do they "float" them or do they go completely under? |
I would give it a little long, he is still young. I dont know if they put them all of the way under or not since Chance was neutered at the same time and all of the rest of my dogs extra teeth finally fell out but it took longer than 7 months for most of them to. |
Thanks for reply. I will wait lnger then. His gums are still very blush and healthy and he does not appear to be in any pain I just didnt wanna make the mistake of waiting too long. I hope he doesnt have to go all the way under if he does end up having them extracted. :( :( What was the latest any of your fur babies teeth fell out? |
When Buddy was about 14months old I took him to the vet for something unrelated to his teeth. He did, however, have one lower tooth, the pointy one on the bottom:confused: still there along with the new one. The vet said it needs to come out because the adult tooth will not go in the right place and will always be out of line with his jaw. Also, when it was removed there was tartar in back of it because I could not get to it due to the teeth being double in that area. So there are a couple of things to consider. Your best bet is to ask the vet. At 14mos the tooth was still very secure in place so they might not get loose at all. You want the new teeth to be in their right place in the mouth and that won't happen if the baby teeth are not removed. Also tartar will build up on the adult teeth because you can't brush between the double teeth. |
Okay so if at 10-11 monthsits still there then have it looked at or ya think thats even too late? |

teeth should be taken out. |
My mother's Sindee turned 17 months, when she was 13 months they were going to have her teeth done because she had a second row and a few fell out so my mom said she would wait and see. At 15 months all were out on their own! She was worried about putting her under too, but she ended up not having to. Are any loose? Sindee's were, That is why she waited a bit longer. Her vet was nice about not pushing to have it done right away, but advised not waiting too long. Good luck with Diggy, hes such a handsom boy! |
Thanks to both of you for replying.... I am calling vet right now.....:( |
