car sick??? my friend got a yo :confused: :confused: rkie baby, and shes now 4 months old, and gets car sick every time she gets in the car, she really wants to be able to take her out with her when she goes, any one else have this problem, she said she has taken her every day for a short ride for the last 2 weeks,,thinking it may get better, any advice..or is this something she may grow out of, we dont have that problem with our baby , so i cant even begin to know what to tell her..she asked me to see if any one had help for her... |
No help there, but same problem. Zowie gets car sick, I don't take her very far. 20 min to my mom's, and I can't get anyone to hold her. :shocked7q |
what i did with my coco is we made sure that he always had air blowing in his face and now he goes to the window and sticks his head out himself when he feels he needs the air. |
That's true, Zowie does like to look into the air conditioner vents - I always turn them towards her. |

Yep carseat My Garett dreaded going in the car, and I dreaded taking him, he got carsick before we went a mile. I tried ginger snaps, they helped for short trips, and meds from the vet (doggy dramamine) but what worked the best was getting him a car seat. He does not get sick as long as he can see where he is going!!! |
My yorkie used to get very stressed out, nauseous, and throw up when we took him in the car. We travel alot so we had to get him used to it. He's cured of car sickness now, but it took a few months. We would take him out for a little bit at a time at first and gradually worked up to long drives. He likes the air blowing in his face too. By the time he was about 8 months old, he was absolutely fine in the car. |
i beilieve that air is very important, i mean even my hubby sticks his head out the window when he gets car sick :D |
My vet suggested childrens dramamine. But I have also heard of taking them for longer and longer rides until they get used to it. Now that said, I'll say this: If I take Autumn Rose for a ride and she hasn't eaten, she'll get carsick. I have to stop and get a hamburger patty for her, she's getting addicted to Mac Donalds. I free feed so when she wants to go I don't usually know if she's eaten in the last couple of hours or not. On the other hand Lady Galahad always gets carsick. I will have to try to talk hubby into getting a carseat and see if that works for her. It's a good excuse, don't you think? I wanted one anyway. |

Ramsey loves ridding in the car, and I always keep the air blowing for him!! I make sure not to let him eat or drink before we leave and carry water with me for when we stop. |
