Colapsed Trachea Hi All, My little guy has a colasped trachea.. Has anyone experienced this with there Yorkies? :( |
Oh gosh, I am so sorry to hear that! There have been several good threads on that topic. Click on search (on the blue bar) and they will come up. I'm sure lots of people will write in who have experience with it. By the way, welcome to YT. We would love to see pictures of your baby! |
Yes my mom had gotten a female from a breeder... but she didn't stop breeding the girl when she was suppose to so the tubes from c section caused her trachea to collapse. the vet put her on thioflen (dont know spelling) its to help her breathing.. but that didnt help then they put her on prednisone and lasix and it helped for a while... we had to put her down a few months ago.. sorry to hear about your baby i hope they can get him better |
I have had 3 yorkies with it and my 10 yeart old pom has a severe one. I lost Gracie at 6 1/2 years to it and my other 2 had a mild one so they lived until they were 13 and that wasn't what they died from. Make sure ypu never use a collar, keep him as calm as you can and the vet can give you some meds. Good luck |
Lola has it. It happened at petco during a grooming  They left her alone on the table with the noose and she jumped... Anyway It's not severe, but when she gets excited she gags and coughs or if anything touches her neck in the wrong way. I found a great harness that comes no where near her throat. It's a BB harness from muttropolis.com. Is your baby's severe? |
What a sad way to join the forum. I don't have any experience, but I will hope and pray for the best for you! :wavey: Welcome!! |
What are some symptoms of collapsed trachea? My little Bobby kinda makes this gagging, throwing-up sound after he eats but nothing usually comes up. Should I be worried? |
