Rocky's not feeling well Today at work I called my fiance, and he said Rocky's had diareahh :( It was like 5ish, I wouldn't get home until almost 8, but he already had rice cooking and chicken breast defrosting for Rocky! He was taking care of him, and put Bella in the play pen to be with Rocky and he said she just went up to him and laid down by him. He finally ate some rice and chicken, now he's taking a little nap. I took his temp and it was 101.6, but I'm still going to check it again before I go to sleep. Rocky had a vaccine on friday, I don't know if it's that because he was fine friday and saturday. Today he's just not himself, his ears are down, he's wasn't as jumpy when I got home..he just wants to lay in his bed in the playpen. Please keep him in your prayers that he's going to be O.K. If he's still like this tomarrow I'm going to take him to the vet. |
poor little guy... sometimes the vaccine reactions can take a bit to kick in... Layla tends to be the next day and then for a few days after.... if you have nutrical... give him some of that.... if not honey works well if he won't eat.. to keep his blood sugar up. |

also if he swells up from the vaccine (Layla gets a HUGE lump under her skin) use a warm compress... it will bring the blood up to the area and help the swelling go down quicker! poor guy. |
I'm sorry he's not feeling well. I've heard that chicken and rice is not good to give them when they are sick (although a lot of people do). I would give a little yogurt and canned pumpkin |

Yeah it was the distemper. Last year he had a reaction to one of his shots, it made him ill that evening, but with in a few hours he was ready to play. I can't remember if it was a distemper or rabies though that gave him the reaction. He went to the bathroom again, and I looked at it and their was a discharge looking blood in it :( I'm getting really worried. I don't know it's been like this all day because I haven't seen it. I don't know if I should take him to an ER vet, or take him first thing tomarrow. He looks so sad, he's laying with his head down, like he has no energy at all :( |
He's still sick He's a little more active, actually barked today, but other than that he's still lying around. I took him to the vet as soon as I got home, they gave him an injection and some medicine. I still don't know what's wrong with him though. I had to take him to the vet that I don't really like because I have so much to do today, a project due tonight for my class, so I only had time to run him there...there not that bad, just very impersonal..anyways, the doctor didn't even tell me what's wrong with him! He's like "I'm going to give him a shot and medicine" I had to ask "what do you think is wrong...what came up on the stool sample?" Can you believe that! The sample tested negative, and Rocky doesn't have a temp. He just had some chicken and rice and is laying down in his bed. I hope he feels better by this evening. Bella's being such a good little sister to him! She won't leave his side..when I put him in the crate to sleep last night she walked in there with him and refused to come out! I'm glad he's got such a good little sister to take care of him! Please keep Rocky in your prayers that he gets better! |

I hope he feels better soon! Maybe you should call your regular vet if he's not okay in a day or two. You don't want to pay twice, but maybe they'll tell you over the phone if they think it's from the shots. Kiss him from us, Judy Max and Gracie Leigh |
I hope He's feeling better soon. I do not give the lepto part of that shot as it makes them sick alot. |
^Thanks guys! I just got home from class and he actually jumped up to greet me! He's giving his kisses (well he never stopped doing that actually), but he's finally out of the playpen and roaming around the house...not to crazy, but definitly an improvement from before! I think he's going to be all better now, I'm soo relieved! |
