Please send prayers for Rocky I can't believe this! I take valium for anxiety when travelling. As many of you know, I was on a trip last week, so I took the valium with me. I put it in a ziplock baggie so that I wouldn't have to take the bottle in my purse. Well, I didn't need any, so I still had all 20 of them in my purse, until tonight! I found Rocky with a half torn up baggie and many missing pills. Of course, he was stumbling around like a drunkard by the time I found out what he had done. Needless to say, Rocky is in the puppy hospital for tonight. I stayed with him until the forced vomiting was complete and they gave him the charcoal to, hopefully, absorb what might be left in his system. It is almost 2:30 am here, and I know that I will not get a wink of sleep. Hopefully, I can pick him up at 8:30 in the morning. Until then, it will be hourly phone calls to the vet. Please pray for my baby. The next 6 hours will be total hell for me. He has never had to sleep alone before and I am so worried about him. Also, they refused to let me stay, which completely infuriated me. He needs his mom and I need my baby. Heartbroken! Please send all prayers and good thoughts Rocky's way. I am just praying that there will be no lasting damage to his little body and that he makes it through the night. |
thinking of you my prayers are with you and rocky tonight please keep us posted. Stay strong. 'dianne' |
Rocky is in our thoughts and prayers....Please everyone those prescription containers are hard to get open for a reason and all medicine should be in a container like that!! |
Thank Goodness Shelly you found Rocky and got him to a hospital....that was so important! Hopefully he didn't get too many of them from that baggie. I'm saying a prayer for Rocky...please keep us updated on him... hugs to you- Melissa & "Baby Sophie" :aimeeyork |
What an awful thing to have happen! Our thoughts will definitely be with both of you...Hang in there and keep us posted. |
that's SO SCARY !! I know how very scared you felt...When Chanel was a baby she ate one of my hubby's 'energy/diet pills'...we were lucky like you and I smelled it on her breath - we rushed her to the vet and they kept her for the day - but man was it scary and eye opening....I made him pick EVERY single pill bottle off the low table he had them on - Please everyone.... keep those bottles in a place where a yorkie cannot reach - and out of our purses too - a friend had her baby get into her birth control pills that were in her purse and he didn't make it .... It sounds like Rocky is going to be ok ? That's so awesome and I hope he comes home as soon as possible ! |
Hopefully there will be no lasting damage as you said. Sounds like you got to him pretty quick and they did all the right things for him at the vet. Update soon please! :) |
Sending good prayers for Rocky to be well. Thankfully you were home when he did this, it is so scary! Another thing, do not leave coins laying around to be knocked off on to the floor. A friend of mine lost her pug when he died of eating pennies. He got poisioned from them. The vet said that it's pennies you have to watch out for, I can't remember what they emit when they break down but it will kill them :unlove: ... |
I am so sorry about your puppy. I am sure you are worried sick. Good thoughts are headed in that direction. Keep us posted. ~Bella, General Patton, & Maria~ |
I am so sorry to hear about Rocky. When Biddy was a puppy (about 4 months old) she lived with my dad and he dropped a pretty powerful painkiller and Biddy swallowed it. She was only about 2 pounds at the time. She was rushed to the hospital and they took care of it, and she was fine. If little-bitty Biddy faught it off, I'm sure tough Rocky can! My prayers and best wishes are with him! |
I am so sorry to hear this. I will definetly keep you and Rocky in my prayers. |

Aw, poor little fella and poor mommy! Rocky and you are in our prayers, sounds like you got to him in time and maybe he will be all the wiser as you will be. I know it broke your heart to leave him but he will be back in your arms before you know it! Windy and Lida Rose |
Poor little Rocky! We well keep Rocky and you in our prayers!! |
I will pray for Rocky. It was good thing that you noticed it when you did. I used to baby sit kids and when I had friends visit I would ask them to put their purse on top of the refrigerator. I still have people put thier purse up because of the dogs. When I visited my Mom a few weeks ago Mya was trying to get something under the sofa. I moved the sofa and found 5 pills. That was a close call for us. I am sure Rocky will be home tucked in your bed soon. |
aww i hope rocky is okay!!! stay strong!! our prayers are with you! |
