Barking Hi all... I have absolutely the most adorable, lovable 3-year-old Yorkie named Lexi but she barks almost incessantly. Other than that, she's a wonderful dog but the barking is driving us crazy. We've tried the water bottle and it doesn't work... does anyone have any other ideas? Do others have pets who bark non-stop? Thanks. Laura |
Do you know what she is barking at? There are several threads about barking. In fact, there was one that I answered already today. We have used the squirt bottle. It worked for us, but obviously, if she sees something, she will bark. Ours barked at our parakeet every time he moved. Unfortunately, he died, and we don't have as much barking. However, we also have a yard full of squirrels, and she barks at those too. I know you will get more help. But if you can eliminate what your dog is barking at, you have the game won. The problem is that they like to bark at so many things. :animal-pa |
Zoe doesn't like loud noises so I bought one of those cheap bicycle horns and used that when she barks. I also correct her immediately and consistently and she isn't too bad. She is a dog and she does bark but she quiets down pretty quickly. And she doesn't bark at company but then she is a little young, hopefully that does not change as she gets older.... |
Hi... we have a yard full of squirrels, too, and there are a number of cats. Sometimes I think they know she can't get to them, so they sit in front of the window "making fun" of her. :-) Thanks for the responses. Your pics are adorable, by the way. |
my lexi barks too.. drives me nuts, but i dont think there is anything we can do .. shut up works sometimes, and im getting the swatter works sometimes... , otherwise i have to deal with it for a few seconds and she stops |
Cody barks too... I know most of the time he is doing his job by letting me know someone is there or passing by. but his bark has gotten louder and its beginning to drive me nuts. People come to visit my next door neighbor(living in apartment), Someone comes to my door, the noise the clouds make when their rolling, airplanes and helicopters. you name it he is barking . i tried the water bottle too it dont work.. |
