Going to the groomers Hi Everyone, I need your advice. Madeleine is 5 months old and she is going to the groomers for the first time next Saturday. I checked out a lot of different places but settled on a groomer who had a nice calm ambiance in her "salon". While I was in there chit chatting there were two other larger dogs getting groomed and they were so calm. I gave the woman a heads up that Maddie is very hyper when it comes to grooming and hates baths and combing. She didn't seem to think it would be a problem. My question is, have any of you with hyper little puppies had trouble with grooming? In my head I can just see picking her up and her hair being completely uneven because she wouldn't sit still! I'm sure they have better techniques because they are professionals but I still worry that she will be too rambunctious to properly groom. Any thoughts???? |
Ask her is she used to grooming yorkies?? We go to a lady who only does yorkies and she has photos of styles so you can show her if you cant describe what you want done first off. Check where she holds them when they are waiting, oh and ask does she do doggy massage, my babies love it!!! |
Penny was very nervous when she got her first puppy cut, but the groomer took her time with her, and it turned out beautiful. |
Thanks for the tips on what to ask for! |
Keep us posted! Bella hasn't gone to the groomers yet, but would love to hear an update after your furbaby has her appointment. She is not happy about baths and can definitely be hyper! Keep us posted! :) |
Koda used to be very nervous but after a while she got used 2, Her groomer is very sweet and an animal lover, she only cut Yorkies (that makes a difference) Specially since I saw at one of the grooming salons when this nasty ***** was pulling the puppy around and not being so good to him, I screamed at her and told her that she needed another type of work and not working with pets. My point is: Relax and dont be nervous, ask a lot of questions and it will be easier for you. Keep us posted:aimeeyork |
