Ah! Where Can I Get a Premie Onesie by Weds!!!??? Hi All - My baby Marcel gets neutered (:( ) on Weds and needs a onesie. I took for granted that I could find a premie size at Target - they DON'T carry them! Their newborn size looks way too big (for babies 5-8 lbs). He weighs 2 lb. 11 oz. - anyone know where I can get them from a store (online is too late)? Thanks!!!!!! |
When Teddi got fixed they made something out of a sock for her. You might want to try that. |
As a mother of 2 former premies let me tell you that onesie's are hard to come by in regular stores. If I recall correctly, I had to special order them from a premie store. Dillards, Macey's , and JC penny did carry more variety in Premie cloths, try their. Wall mart has a few premie outfits but I am not sure about the onesie. Good luck! |
You just may have to try the sock someone suggested. I think that even a onsie in a preemie size would be too big for your little one. Good luck! I hope you can figure something out! |

yep WalMart does preemie ones... Layla wore preemie when she was spayed... you might not get the color you want :p he MAY ahve to wear pink... lol... but why don't you try calling around before you head out anywhere... |

I made a sweater for a chi out of a knee sock once. It worked great! Maybe it would work for Marcel. I dont have a onesie yet either. Zoey is going on Monday to get spayed and chipped. Im so nervous. She has had reactions to vacines before, so Im scared. They said she would have to spend the night, I said no way, so I have to sign a release but she can come home with me the same day. |

This might make me look like a total idiot, but... why do you need a onesie when your baby is getting neutered??? Do you use it instead of an E-collar so they can't lick? I feel really stupid asking this, and I'm sorry to not be "following the thread" ..but I have to know. Kobi got neutered and definitely never had a onesie so I'm just curious...thank in advance for the answer to my idiot question :eek: :eek: And of course, good luck to little Marcel on his surgery...and everyone else who's being "altered" :eek: this week! |
When Lola was spayed a few months ago we found her premie onsies at Burlington Coat Factory in the Baby Depot. She was 2.7 pounds when she had her surgery. We had to add a few pins and did some tayloring but it fit her...of course she didn't even go after her stitches one time...but we had the onesie just in case. Good luck :) |

Hi, I'm glad I saw your post. I just got back from Wal-Mart and bought a few premie onsies for my girls. I plan to make pjs out of them. They had tons of premie ones there. I was actually shocked because there were more boy prints then girls to pick from. However, just so you know I tried one on Pia and she is swimming in it. I know Marcel is tiny also so I thought you should know this. I hope you can sew. :D Kisses to little Marcel. I'm sure your already getting nervous. I have to call Monday to set up Paisley's appointment to be spayed and I'm a nervous wreck even thinking about it. :( |
When I had my 2 preemie boy's back in 96 and 97, not many stores carried preemie size clothing. My Lincoln was 2.0 lbs and my Garrett was 2.5 lbs. We had to order what was called Micro Preemie size for preemies 1 to 3 lbs. The clothing for preemies at the store are usually for babies that are bigger than 3lbs but up to 6 lbs. So yah I could see were the regular preemie size would be to big on a almost 3 lbs. pup. When we did get the boy's to 3 lbs and could buy the store's preemie clothing, it was huge on them and they swam in it. Every once makes a difference! |
