Are diapers a mistake? I have a 5 month old yorkie, who's been really hard to train. Just when I think he's got it it seems like he reverts back to going anywhere and everywhere. I understand that it takes a long time to train some yorkies, but between kids, house hlod duties and duties outside the house its becoming exhausting........ So I went to the pet store and saw doggie diapers, their was a lady who told me she used them to train her pomeranian. She said once the pomernian had an accident in them she didn't want to feel that wetness anymore so she would hold it until she took the diaper off, which she would wait to do until she took the pom outside. I never heard of diapers being used as a training method, has anyone else? And if so please let me know if you had good results. The kids and I really love him and just want to find a training method that works so we can all keep our sanity :D . |
1 Attachment(s) We are using the belly bands and are having very good luck with it. I was so worried about how to potty train 2 little boys at one time. But we are doing really well. They will be 5 months Monday. |

If your puppy has healthy stool it can be easily picked up & flushed, but the urine-yikes. so the belly bands are nice. A full diaper my mean lots of baths, even w/the belly band you have to keep that area clean because the urine can burn there skin. Have you tried the pee pads? My girl has a fenced in back yard w/a doggie door which is no fun, she likes going out front where she can smell where all of the visiting doggies have marked & mark where they did, of coarse I make extra sure to make sure she has no sign of parasites & is utd on vacs. We get revolution from deadfleaz.com it protects against fleaz, heartworms, earmites & mange plus a few other things-I love that stuff & it is so cheap on that site. Well good luck-the most important training tools are patience, love & reward for good behavior;) |
