dog out in the house without peepads Taz is 7 months and is trained to go outside. Has about 2 accidents -only pee, a month. He doesn't let us know when he had to go outside to pee, to poop he will run down the steps and wait by the door. I work at home now, he has free reign of the living room, kitchen, all other doors are closed, and I work downstairs. I let him out every hour or so and he is fine. In about 1 1/2years I will not be working at home and he will be here about 7 hrs. So does anyones yorkie have somewhat free reign of the house and are they able to hold it all that time? I don't want to eventually have to use pee pads, or put him in a kennel during the day. Just thinking ahead. Thanks |
Sounds like your baby is doing just fine. I work and am outside of the house 9hrs daily. Mon-Fri. Buddy has been housetrained since 6months old. He is 3 1/2 yrs old now and has had full rein of the house since he was about 8months old. I have recently been closing the bedroom door since he gets up on the vanity and I am afraid he will be stuck there all day. This is something he started a couple of months ago. He never touches anything just sleeps all day. |
no princess only gets the kitchen... even if she did have free reign of the house.. all she does is sleep when im gone (doesnt even eat at all!!!) i spied on her before pretending to leave but was really just around the house and everytime i looked in the window she was just laying there on the couch with a sad face :p so i just gate her into the kitchen because all she does is wanna sleep even when im gone for like 6-7 hours!! |
Teddi stays in the kitchen with pads during the day...I don't trust her having full reign of the house. She does much better when she has just one room. At night she is only in my bedroom with the door shut and if she has to go there is a pad in the corner and she uses it but if the door was open I'm not so sure she would use it. Other times when I am home she has free reign but I take her out to go on the grass outside very often. I'm going to try that bell training soon and see if she can tell me when she wants to go out. |
Siu Pao has a free reign with a pee pad at the kitchen. So far so good. I think I feel better knowing they get to pee/poo whenever they want to instead of holding it for too long. |
i use the pads or try to ..trip uses the throw rugs LOL!!! |
