I would be even more cautious of a breeder who would let a pup go home at an age earlier than 10 weeks...minimum. And the puppy being 'fragile' isn't the only factor for when to place it that should be taken into consideration. No reputable, ethical breeder is going to let them go so young. Take careful consideration of who is telling you what...I'm sure millers and money hungry BYB'rs would be glad to get them out the door quickly, but you'll find those who are going about things properly wouldn't hear of it!:eek:
Just because someone has gotten a pup at a very young age doesn't mean it's a good idea and should be repeated. They were just lucky. Releasing pups before 8 weeks is actually illegal in many states...so someone, somewhere actually did research and found it wasn't such a good idea. |
