They are really cute, but don't look all yorkie to me. I'd stay away from there.

That puppy in the first link looks exactly like my puppy Morgan. She is a maltese/yorkie mix. Doesn't look like a full blooded yorkie to me.
Just my opinion.

Julz on here has Mercedes, who is a red yorkie. I am TOTALLY in love with her (as I have been since she was born). and Julz, again, if you ever decide you don't want her....:)

Thank you MEGAN!!! She really does love Mercedes! You are such a sweetheart! Here are mine....no dark hairs. However, I did see a photo of one on a website as a pup, then as an adult, and it really did turn out all golden. This pup is adorable, but even to me, something is off in the face Yorkie-wise. I'm not saying anything either way though:) .

I saw that too! Can you believe that? I think that kids could not only injure a puppy, but isn't there a risk for both the puppies and the kids to get sick? Kids are little germ factories :) I used to work in several daycare centers, and we'd have to bleach the toys and sanitize everything all the time-how do they keep the puppies from getting all the different germs from the kids and the different environments they go into for these parties? How do they keep the kids from getting sick if the puppies are carrying different germs around? It sounds like a BAD idea to me. Plus, wouldn't you LOVE to buy one of these puppies, only to later find out it's been a "puppy party" employee? Who knows if it could be sick, be injured, or have behavioral issues or anxiety after being subjected to so many different people and children? Maybe they come out of there as well-socialized dogs after doing those parties, but I would think there's definitely something fishy about it.

That puppy is definitely cute, but looks like a yorkie/maltese mix to me. If it's a red yorkie for sure, it shouldn't cost more because of that because that would be considered a fault. Also, that puppy is coming from a puppymill.:mad:

so how does one get a red yorkie? Is it a specific gene? I've heard of the chocolates, the biewers, goldens (I think) but the red one is new to me.

the golden and the red are the same thing. They look so red when born but turn out golden (check my photos above). It is a recessive gene and both parents have to be carriers for it to occur. Mine were born of 2 standards.

so it's not necessarily something you could breed for? It's just a matter of chance?

Yes, it is by chance....atleast the first time. However, you could breed the same pair and still maybe never end up with another golden one. They seem to be even less likely to pop up than the other anomalies. BELIEVE ME, I was SHOCKED.....and now I am just so thrilled!!!

Jolz looks just like a Cherished Teddy figurine. I think she is adorable.

I thought that color was called a blue yorkie..I ran into someone with a yorkie that color and they told me it is rare and worth a lot of money he called it a Blue yorkie.
However that puppy in the window has stolen my heart.
Please reconsder buying from a pet store. I rescue a mother from the breeding mill and she was in awlful shape..
no more babies for her. she is my baby now

I know, It's terrible! I did post about that, and so did someone else-#15 and 19 ;)

I would never buy from somewhere like that either. It's too risky for a number of reasons, and it supports their unethical business practices.

No, a blue Yorkie is something you NEVER want to see in a litter. It looks greyish/silver. This is the only color that carries tremendous health problems...so much so that they rarely survive. Someone on here has or knows someone who had a blue born that survived.
