Breathing Right??
 
Hello All,
I just rescued a 4 yr. old yt last week. I have noticed that when she breaths she seems to make a clicking noise (not all of the time). She also seems to pant a lot. I am just praying that she is healthy. (not to mention that I am becoming very neurotic about this noise). Has anyone experienced this? She does not making that honking noise that is associated with a collapsed trachea. She does not go for her first vet check for two weeks. Any info. would help.

With the worry wart I am, I would call the vet. If you ask them about it they may get her in sooner.

Do you think the panting can come from being in a new place? I met a lady who had a yorkie who did the same thing, and she just said it was collapsed trachea. Definitely take him to a vet or 2 (I always get 2nd opinions) Hope this helps!:)

Does she make the clicking noise when she is panting? Coby often "clicks" when he pants. It's the weirdest little noise. I often equate it to an old person's clicking when talking with false teeth. :D

As BRPrincess said, panting can be a sign of nervousness or unease. If she seems fine otherwise, she may just need a few more days to calm down. If not, or if you're still nervous, you may try to get her into the vet sooner.

Thanks! Yes, it seems as though she clicks when she pants. She is such a great dog and I just hope this is normal. I am a very nervous person to begin with. Every noise that she makes worries me. Unfortunately, the breeder I saved her from made her sit in a cage ALL DAY. When I took her to the groomer yesterday they discovered all feces stuck to her belly and nipples (she had one baby and was not mass producing thus the reason for giving her up :thumbdown ) Anyway, she absolutely adores me and I do her and only hope that my girl is okat:)

Oh, what a lucky girl to be taken in by you!! I'm betting the clicking noise is fine. I'm betting that now that she's going to be feeling much better after her trip to the groomer and the fact that she'll begin to start feeling safe, you'll see the panting decrease. But I'm still suprised your vet check up has to wait 2 weeks. In fact, I would have thought the groomer would have wanted you to take her to the vet first anyway. Best of luck to you and your new girl. Sounds like you're both in love!!
