Oliver may have eaten beads from a stuffed animal While sitting right in front of me, Oliver was playing with his stuffed amputee rabbit. I looked down a few minutes later and there were little beads all over the rug. He usually doesn't eat things he chews on, and I didn't see him eating any of them, but does anyone think they are dangerous. They were in a little pouch that he must've gotten out of the center of the bunny to make it squishy. I probably should've put this in the health thread but I figured I'd get fast answers here, sorry. He was sitting right in front of me on the floor, I can't believe I didn't notice he had gotten the bag out. |
is he acting okay?? |
Do you mean from a beanie baby or something like that? Does he seem okay? |
it's a stuffed animal rabbitt, it's the only toy he has that's not a dogs toy. I don't think he ate any, he's acting fine. Mommy's stupid fault, i just thought it was stuffed, I had no idea there was a pouch of beads in it. Just freaked me out because I though of those silicone beads that are packed in some things. He's acting normal. I just went into paranoia paula mode. |
Read the tag ,maybe it will tell you what was inside. Here is a Pet Poison Hotline -free- 1-785-532-5679 |
Maybe he didn't have time to eat any before you saw him. I'd just watch him closely and see how he acts. I hope he's okay!!! |
Thanks guys, I'm gonna call. Unfortunately the tag is long gone, bunny has been around for a long time. I think he'll be fine, but I'll probably stare at him all nite. |

They usually poop on potty pads, so it'll be easy to see if he did eat some!! |
How about an update on my lil buddy? |
How's Oliver this morning? Maybe give your vet a call just to see what they say....peace of mind for you as well. :) Sounds like that is one loved bunny! Is there anyway that it could be sewn back with a squeaker added? Hope he's okay!! Tammy |
Thanks for asking! Ollie is great this morning. His little silly self. He ate a good breakfast and was playing when I left for work. You can bet I'll be more careful in the future, only doggie toys for my boys. |
I have toys that aren't doggy toys, but I buy baby rattles and stuffed baby toys. I then know if it's safe for a baby it should be ok for them and I keep an eye out for tears in them. I never buy beenie babies for them. If I can feel beans. I skip it for my furkids. They like the stuffed rattles most because they make noise when you shake them. You can pick them up a yard sales for a few cents and their usually washable. |
