Strange Question... Hey Everyone! I haven't been on in awhile there as been a lot going on. I need some help!! Monday night Bella went on her piddle pad and proceeded to urinate but nothing came out. The next morning she started to urinate on the area rug (which is not like her at all). At first I thought the peeing on the rug could be due to my schedule change I'm gone for two hours Mon-Thurs. Well I called the vet thinking she might have a bladder infection. They did every possible test on her urine sample and they said she is 100% healthy nothing is wrong. The doctor even suggested she might have learned she gets attention from that since I'm gone in the morning. She seemed to be ok for about a day then started the squatting again with no urination. she now is going on the pad about twice a day but when she goes for a walk she just squats and nothing comes out. Has anyone's yorkie done this before? Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thank you in advance! |
Sounds like she could have kidney stones or crystals that are blocking the urine, maybe? I hope not! But would get it checked out. Sorry she is having troubles. |
Sounds to me like she may have stones/crystals...I wouldn't be satisfied with the answer the vet gave you...That's so out of character for her. The only way to tell is by x-ray or ultrasound....Remember that not all stones will show up on an x-ray. Miko produces ammonium urate stones which do not show up on x-rays, but as soon as they do an ultrasound, they can see a TON of urate stones...So, make sure they do both... And the answer to your questions is yes, my yorkie has done this and the first time it happened, they told us that he didn't have a UTI, but they would send him home with antibiotics anyways?!? They were right, he didn't have a UTI, but he did have stones/crystals which they didn't even mention was a possibility. I feel so bad for your little girl. Obviously something is going on...I'll be praying for her!!! :) |
thanx for the advice I really appreciate it. she's going back to the vet! |
