Birthday Cake
 
First of all, I hope I'm posting in the right thread. If not, admin please delete this one and let me know where to post. Thanks!

OK, as some of you may or may not know, Kayah's 2nd birthday is on September 6th:happyboun.

Anyway, I was planning to throw her a big party... BUT I had a few unwanted expenses come up:rolleyes:

So now, we're just going to have a little BBQ in her honor.

I do want to make her a little cake... SO, does anyone have any receipies they are willing to share with me??

Kayah is VERY picky about what she eats and she doesn't like carob...

I was thinking something with ice cream (human low fat) but can I use regular cake mix??

Does anyone have any better ideas?

Pictures would be wonderful, too.

I don't have any recipes, but I know a lot of people on here do.

NO you can't use human cake mix. Sugar is BAD for them unless they are having a hypoglycemic attack. I will look for some good recipes. I have a doggie cookbook at home. :)

We had a puppy BBQ on 8/25 and had a cake that went over very well with all the dogs. It was made of 85% lean hamburger with shredded chicken breast frosting.

It was such a hit and so easy to make. We had such a nice time with all the yorkies there that are either Mandy's or Krissy's puppies. I was kind of a reunion and first birthday combined.

It's only going to be Kayah and the rest human.. all of Kayah's doggy friends live far

It was just plain hamburger 85% lean baked in a aluminum pan until done. Then three chicken breasts boiled until done and shredded to go on top like white frosting. You can use any size pan but we used a turkey roasting size. The candle was from the Party store. Actually a few people tasted it too and said it was pretty good. Basically it wasn't dog food at all. The people had the same hamburger only on a bun with lettuce, tomato, onion, etc...:p

If it is only Kayah maybe a small cupcake size one would work for her and a real cake for everyone else? Or make her a couple so she can have one the next day too...:D

I don't have any doggie cake recipes but I do hope that for those posting cake recipes that you add them to the YT cookbook cause that would be awesome!!:p

I don't have a recipe but for Zoe's 1st, I thought it'd be much less work to go buy a cake from a local doggie bakery for $25
