Too old for puppy food?? Reece is 13 months and Soleil is 14 weeks...Reece has never stopped eating puppy food which is easier with Soleil being a puppy still...but is it ok for him to still be eating it at 13 months?? Dawn |
I would keep Reece on puppy food until your other puppy get bigger. |
Okey dokey...it should be ok then? Dawn |
Yes, I was just talking to the vet about it tonight. Becuase Aubrey will be 1 in October. And Dakota is just 3 months, So when shes 11 months or so I am going to switch them. |
we use Canidae, 'all stages', AND you can feed this at any age-from puppy to senior. It is a really high quality dog food.. Avery likes it alot too!! |

As long as your older boy isn't fat, there's no real reason to worry about switching him now. Puppy diets usually have more fat and often have higher protein content than adult foods, and many small breed dogs can actually benefit from that due to their faster metabolisms. If he starts packing on the pounds at some point, switch him off the puppy diet-- otherwise, I'd say it is perfectly all right for him to stay on it until the other puppy is older. |

It's fine to keep him on puppy food. There really isn't that much of a difference - puppy food has more protein and fat. |
I think the puppy food would be just fine. It's very healthy. |
