raw bones from the butcher are great. They don't splinter and dogs really like them and they are good for them. I got some the other day and the pups thought they were having such a treat! I got 5 good sized ones (so they couldn't swallow them not matter how hard they tried) for $2.00. |
Ours chew on frozen carrots, kong toys and knuckle bones. They are allowed to chew on rawhide bones that are the big knotted ones only, because they are way to big to any of them to be able to get a piece off of. It helps with teething but they don't ingest any of the rawhide. |

Wow, I never knew ham was bad for dogs. Whis is that-just curious? Lucy gets raw meaty soup bones I have my local grocer cut for her. They are a bit messy so she has them outside as a treat. For other times she has an "Antlerz". I don't know how other dogs like them but she loves her Antler. If you google it you'll see what they are. My vet thinks they are great and he doesn't sell them! She still has her first one and I imagine she'll still have it by the new year! |

Puppy Ziggy's I got my furbaby his name is Rowdy:aimeeyork these chew treats by Kong Stuffin. They r called puppy ziggy's he loves them. Says they won't crack or splinter, safe, digestible, freshens breath, & cleans teeth. Does anyone else use them & what do you think? |
My three love to chew and I have searched high and low for something that is safe for them. They actually loved greenies but we all know what happened with them...then they loved Dingo bones but they scared me. I tried bully sticks and some natural Merrick beef sticks which they wouldnt touch. Ive bought about every dog treat on the market most of which they just look at. So recently while at the meat store I asked if they sold bones...they said they did it all the time and actually cut some down to size for me. They are still big enough that there is no chance of them choking on them. They were thrilled and have been carrying them around with them everywhere. I buy a new one once a week. So far (till someone finds something wrong with this too) this has been the best solution for me. Laura |
I give chester zukes z ridge bones, they are for at least a 6lb dog and they have to be 6 months old, chester loves them, but they are pricey, 95 cents a bone, he has had no problems but he is 9 lbs dog. |
Mine like the kongs filled with peanut butter, but if you can't use them I'd suggest you checkout Petedge.com. They have all kinds of toys. |
