How big will my puppy get? Hi Everyone- I have a 7 year old Yorkie and last week I bought an 8 week old puppy. The parents weighed approximately 4-4 1/2 pounds. At 9 weeks my puppy weighs 2.2 pounds. About how big do you think he will get? |
I have NO IDEA :D .. but its a chart that I noticed on here when I was trying to figure out the size for my new yorkie.... if anyone remembers the website.. please do so.... |
About 6 to 6 1/2 lbs I guess - but you NEVER know. They are all different and it goes back to grandparents not parents sizes. |
You triple the weight at 8 weeks or double it at twelve for an estimate |
Welcome to YorkieTalk . |
size Bigger then parents..probably 6 to 7... |
Welcome to Yorkie Talk! :D Your little one will probably weigh 6 to 7 pounds, but you never really know for sure. Do you have any pictures of the new addition? |
Here's the link to the growth chart. I hope this works. If not, it's in a sticky at the top of this forum. I was just in it checking on mine. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=16045 |

davis, this is a really fun place to look and guess what your baby will weigh, but remember its not always accurate. In fact, its usually off, so don't count on it too much. Your breeder should be able to give you a pretty good clue as to what size range your baby will be. |
How big will my Yorkie get? Thanks everyone for the information. My older Yorkie Rickles is 10 pounds and I was kinda hoping this new one would be 6-7 pounds. Of course it really doesn't matter that much, I am already crazy in love with him. I am glad I found this web site because up until 4 years ago when I rescued Rickles I was a cats only person. Not because I didn't like dogs, it just seemed I was drawn to cats. Now Rickles is my pride and joy and I wanted him to have a little brother. It will be great having somewhere to come to ask questions and to brag about how wonderful Yorkies are. |
Welcome to YT, and I hope you got your answer.:) |

My Samson was 3.7lbs at 16 weeks and at 2.5 yrs he's 7.6lbs. So in his case his adult weight turned out to be double his 16 week weight. |
