REALLY bad breath!!! I went out of town for 4 days on vacation, and left Wickett with his grandparents. Needless to say.......they spoiled him rotten. He got I don't know how many carrots and slices of cheese per day, plus bread and who knows how much other crap. AAAAHHHHH!!! So now Wickett has NASTY ICKY breath. I tried giving him one of the herbal doggie breath mints, but he developed a lovely little habit of playing with his food/treats instead of eating it. AHH! He's also been throwing up today, probably as a result of all the crap he ate. Could the bad breath be related to stomach problems?? I've already brushed his teeth, but that didn't do much to help. Is there anything else that I can do? Thanks in advance for your help! |
How old is he? If he is teething, that could be the cause of the bad breath. |
Stomach problems can cause bad breath. Teething also causes bad breath - when you have adult and baby teeth in there food tends to get caught between the teeth and it STINKS until all the baby teeth come out. But if he ate a lot of crap and his tummy is upset the bad breath may be from that - or it could be a combo of upset tummy and teething. |
I didn't know about the teething. He's just over 5 months old.....so yep, he's teething AND has stomach problems. He ate better today, and I also gave him a few blueberries. As I left, he was still chasing them around the house but maybe he'll finally decide to eat them? He's getting neutered next week, and when they do that they're also going to pull out any remaining baby teeth. Hopefully once that's done his breath will be normal again? I know it's not supposed to smell like roses, and I was fine with his regular doggie breath.....but this is awful! I have to hold my breath when he kisses me. I feel like such a bad mom for moving my face out of the way of his breathing. |
There might be something that I can eat to help his breath. Aubrey had bad breath when he was younger, and I thought I was going to die!!! |
Yes he can be sick from the stuff he ate, and that's where the smell can be coming from. |
