Tiffy does this all the time and even does little barks and hicups sometimes like if dreaming... I wonder what she dreams about?? |
My Mindy does the same thing. It is freaky seeing there eye moving around and most of the time you can't even see the coloured part. lol |
Yeah, nothing funny about it.....just creepy:eek: |
I had a cat that used to sleep sitting up with his eyes wide open. He'd just start snoring and would stay that way till he woke up:rolleyes: . Just a little freaky, funny, but freaky, |
Pixie does it all the time. When we first got her we swore she never closed her eyes. She always had them open. It is creepy looking!! |
I haven't noticed them open very much, sometimes you can see part of Tillys. |

Our crossbreed Bonnie sleeps with her eyes open sometimes. The first time I saw her it was first thing in the morning and I freaked out because I thought she had passed over in the night. Was I glad when hubby poked her and she woke up:D |
Diggy runs, barks, whines, kicks, and rolls his eyes when sleeping....freaks me out too sometimes I just rub him and he seems to stop. Bella has her eyes open a lot! I think its pretty normal. I have always heard a happy healthy puppy is never still....even when they sleep! |

I do have pics of him, but his eyes are wide open and he's just sitting in the middle of the floor so he looks awake. This is the cat - he was able to sleep in any position 1. - asleep 2. - woke him up (doesn't he look thrilled that I woke him up?) 3. - most movement out of him all day (he weight about 30 lbs.) He was our resident speed bump. |
Whoa...that cat is eating gooood:D |
This was taken after he started losing weight. He developed diabetes and went on insulin and a drastic diet. Had to cut out his wine (he would literally yank the glass away from me and stick his head in and drink it-but only liked the blushes), cherry koolaid, Malibu and coke (he did enjoy his happpy-hour, lol) and all his treats. Had to go on a nasty prescription diet. It was devastating to him at first, but he adjusted and even let me know when it was time for his shots. At the height of his "fighting weight", he wa 30 lbs and 36 inches long (tip of nose to tip of tail). |
Sleeping with eye open Seeing these posts makes me feel alot better about my Rocky. In April my vet noitced that he didn't seem to close one eye. Alot of testing was done but no cause was ever found. A couple of months ago it looked like the inner eyelid was coming down when he was relaxed on his back but for awhile there, it didn't look like his eye closed and I was concerned. All you saw was the white. It's comforting to know that other dogs seem to sleep like this. At the time I wondered if Rocky was getting any sleep at all! I'm going to mention this to my vet. I wish I had known how common this is at the time! |
3 Attachment(s) Yes! Mattie does this too! I have a couple pictures of her doing this.. here they are:p |
1 Attachment(s) Lexie does it all the time...freaks me out  she looks like she has been taken over by aliens or something:p |
1 Attachment(s) lol here's Mindy with her eyes open. Ewwww freaky!!! How can you be so cute and then so freaky. lol |
Sleeping with eye open Do any of you notice if both the eyes close when you stroke underneath them. One of Rocky's doesn't seem to and I was told he has some kind of facial paralysis. As I said, it seems like now the inner eyelid does come down when he sleeps. Don't know how you ladies were able to get those photos - every time I try to look at Rocky when he's sleeping to see his eye, he wakes up! |
Yes Indy does this sometimes, it really freaks me out. Last night she was sleeping with her eyes open, I was watching her and then all of a sudden she started barking, in her sleep! Frightened the life out of me! |
