Help..Bellas food is SPARKING when i put it in the microwave!!! I dont understand?!?!?!?! i homecook for bella...the food is just carrots, ground beef, brown rice and a bunch of vitamins. but every time i put it in the microwave recently it starts to spark, and i am scared it could hurt bella......does anyone know what is going on??? |
Are you putting it in a microwave safe bowl? |
I would question the bowl...does it have any sort of metal on it? |
wow never heard of it....I thought the only things that spark is metal?? maybe just the bowl??? |
If you put it in a bowl that has the gold or silver designs on it (like china) then it will spark because of the medal in it.. use a paper plate or tupperware instead.. if its not the bowl then thats really wierd haha |
It sounds like it might be the dish that you're putting the food on...If it's metal or has any gold/silver trim or anything like that, don't put it in there. I would try to avoid microwaving food for them anyway though. You might try putting their food in a bowl, and then putting the bowl in warm water so that it comes up the sides of the outside of the bowl halfway...This is good way to warm up their food without having to zap it. |
i'm using a paper plate.......i just dont understand, could it be the vitamins??? i use vitamin c powder, vitamin e, bone meal, nutritional yeastm lectithin granules, kelp powder, and omega 3 6 9 capsules...... |

LOOK what I found!!! dense vegetables such as carrots have a higher amount of minerals in them - iron, magnesium and selenium - than other food items and sometimes create an arcing effect in a microwave. This tends to happen more in glass dishes. Sparks result as the microwaves reflect or bounce off the metal. the "arcing" does not harm the food, but it does prevent it from heating thoroughly because reflected microwaves will not cook. Also, extensive arcing can damage your oven's magnetron tube. If arcing occurs, turn off the microwave oven and finish cooking the food on the range top. Arcing may occur in other vegetables, and most often appears in green peppers and green beans. |
wow thank you sooo much...you just made my day!!!! thanks thanks thank!!!!:) |
That is weird about the carrots! Another thing that came to mind was if there is any iron in the vitamins it could maybe cause it. Anyway, I definitely wouldn't put the vitamin mix on until after heating as the heat may ruin some of them and make them ineffective. |
I question the bowl.. |
