Its not getting any better Hey Guys Thanks for all your responses the last time I posted Unfortunately things are not getting any better with Jinky or Larsson. Things are getting alot worse The attack each other all the time, and when I try to tell them its bad, larsson turns on me, she had bitten me today 4 times, Wasnt sore but thats not the point I dont know what to do. I can't even leave my house with the two of them barking, Its really stressing me out. I even took time off work to be with them both. I followed all your advice and was giving larsson loads of attention, feeding her first, giving her lot of hugs and kisses and giving her treats when shes good, which is very little. My fiancee thinks we should sell the both of them, I really dont know what to do!!!!!!! I would miss there company so much if they were gone but i am stressed out to the max. I thought by getting a second dog it would be a great idea but its back firing on me Please advise |
Maybe you should rehome your puppy since youve only had her for a few weeks. Your breeder might even help you. Hopefully, things will go back to the way they were. Go luck!!! :p |
i will bump this up for you, sorry i only have one so i cannot help you. |
It sounds like you need a trainer |
That's too bad your having such difficulties with your two Yorkies. Perhaps you could keep one and sell the other. Why give up both. Some dogs just need to be the "only".I am sorry it's not working out for any of you. |

Unfortunately i cant afford a trainer |
I saw on animal planet today where this woman had 4 chiuahuas and 2 english bulldogs and the 2 male chis kept attacking the male bulldog. They would attack him from the back at the same time and the poor thing was so fat he couldn't turn around that good and would just scream in fear and pain.. Well they had a trainer come over and what she did was amazing.. These are all non neutered males so that makes them even harder to train, but she had the two chis outside with her with treats in her hand. When someone let the bulldog out, the chis got a treat for leaving him alone.. When he went back into the house, they got nothing so after a few weeks of the owners working hard at it, the aggressive dogs learned that they were rewarded whenever the bulldog was around and soon they became pals.. It really worked..You should try that, take the dog that starts the fights with you and then have your husband let the other one in the room and before they have a chance to fight, give the aggressor the treat.. if she attacks then no treat.. the one that is the victim does not get a treat at that time. You can give him or her some quality time with treats later when the other one is asleep or in a crate. I am sure that your little bully will prefer the treat over the fight.. I sure hope you don't have to sell them.. Do you have any pictures of the two.. |
I think keeping one, and selling the other may be the right place to start. If things still don't work out then you could rehome the other. |
I think you should keep trying to train them and if it doesn't work then rehome one of them. Why dont you also keep them in different rooms when you go out so that they dont attack each other. |
If it is causing you to have to take time off from work and stressing your relationship, I would rehome the puppy.....it would be an easier adjustment for her because she is young. If you have a good repoire with the breeder maybe she would rehome her for you. |

Second, you may be giving too much affection and attention at the wrong time. That should come LAST. Make sure your dogs have plenty of exercise. Walk them. Then feed them. And then when they are CALM, give affection. |
fighting Fighting Yorkies is not a minor problem...it can and does results in injury and death...one has to go IMO...once they start fighting, rarely to they stop...at least you can never leave or turn your back and breath easy. You can not allow a Yorkie to get the idea it is okay to bite you...ever! |
Since training is not an option I'd sell one and keep the other. My moms Yorkie has to be the only dog, she likes my dogs to visit but also wants them to go home. Tilly was the opposite. She was lonely and wanted another furbaby around, so we got JJ. They had already lived together before, they came from the same breeder. But a lot of dogs don't want their stuff shared and it's best for the health and safety of the dog to just rehome it or the other. |
