HELP! Im so worried! So i took my yorkie, Jaida, to the vet last week and she got a vaccine and checkup. Well yesterday I notice this large cyst-like bumb on her belly. WHat could this be?! Could it be a reaction for the vaccine? Has this happened to anyone? Please give me an idea, I am really worried! THANKS! |
Is the lump where she got the shot? or is it somewhere else? I'm not sure what it is, but I would definitely take her to the vet. |
I would call the vet first thing in the morning unless that is where she got the vaccine. It is normal for dogs to get lumps where they had the vaccine injected but that doesn't sound like the case. |

Vaccines are never administered in the belly as vaccines are meant to be placed right under the skin. The skin on the back of the neck and backside of the body is the thickest, and the belly some of the thinnest skin on the body so vaccines can not be administed there - plus too many organs. If the hard bump is on the mid-lower belly, it is most likely a hernia. Did it just appear? Some puppies are born with hernias. |
I'd be going back to the vet if I were you. |
Trust me, i called the vet first thing this morning. It did just appear, I always rub her belly and just noticed it the other day. shes not a puppy, 2 years old. It feels like a cyst to me. I know they dont give vaccines in the belly but I was wondering if it could be a lymph node swollen in response to the vaccine. In anycase, shes going back wednesday morning. |
