I'm training Maya to use a bell to go potty. So far she's had one solitary moment of inspiration and understanding and used the bell all by herself, but we're still working on it. Basically, bell = outside! We'll get there...

Tonight, I took Maya outside, she rang the bell (good girl) and she was out for a few minutes, then barked to come inside. As she was coming inside, she hit the bell, and I had to take her back outside. She has now successfully hit the bell (on accident!) 6 times and counting! She's mad, but she keeps hitting it when she comes in...What a nerd! HAHA!!

She's probably thinking "silly mom! Why does she take me out whenever I accidentally hit this bell hanging in the doorway?!?"

She probably thinks it's the most annoying doorbell ever.:) I'm sorrying, but I'm sitting her laughing imagining her doing this.

That's funny....we're doing the bell thing too and Izzy will does the same thing...but when the cats sit there she'll go by to pester them and accidentally ring her bell...well...guess what??? Mom takes her out "outside" no matter what...ha..she rang the bell, didn't she??? :D

Glad to know that Maya isn't the only ding-bat! After I posted she still did it 3 more times until I finally grabbed her leash and led her AROUND the bells instead of straight through them. She was not a happy camper! It only took her a few minutes to forget, but she went to her crate to pout for awhile. Silly baby!

How cute!:D Mine has never done that, but she rang it like crazy - I mean all of the time - when we first started. It does get better. In fact, I wouldn't be without them. Ever! Mine will still ring them if she wants me to come in there to play with her, though!:D You see, she knows I'll come in there if she rings it.:rolleyes:
