I have a large fenced yard but wanted a smaller area to take stan out at night. I hammered into the yard some of those green metal stakes every 8 ft. across the back by the patio door and used the green coated chicken wire stretched as tight as I could attached to these posts. You'll find the post at any Home Depot, Lowes etc. You'd be surprised how easy the fence went up & works great. It can be at the back door for easy access to you and the dogs but not noticed from the front of house and can be easily removed down the road if needed. Sometimes you have to take a day & work hard at something that will pay off 1000 times in the days to come. Think about it. It'll make life so much easier for you. I also made a pee band from stretch fabric about 4" wide and sucured with velcro. I put the winged thin pad in it. He pees all the time when it's not on, but when it is on he waits until I take it off to pee. Guess he dosen't like to be "wet". It works for both of us. |
We also have 3 adults and now a litter of 7 puppies and all I do is clean or feed!! We pulled up all the carpet in out house and put down tile and it has been a life saver. We also have a fenced in area in the back, and a doggy door. I would be very interest in the onsey this thread is talking about, because our male has frequent accidents inside...he refuses to use the doggy door!! |

I know how you feel. I have 8 dogs. 2 of them, the bigger ones, are completely outdoor trained so they never ever have accidents in the house and we just let them out when they ask to go out. I have days that seem stressful or alot to handle but it isn't too often. The expen suggestion is a great idea. You can put two or more pens together for a cheap price and you can just let them outside that way. I have also had a lot of help by getting a small dog tent for them to use as their potty tent. This has been wonderful!! Now all 6 of the dogs use the tent all the time. I just put pads in there and they go in there. No more accidents!! It works sooooo much better than just having pads down like I did before. It is worth a try and not costly. This way they can go to the bathroom whenever they want without making a mess on your carpet. I never thought it would work so good but after I saw someone else try it and decided to give it a try and it has been the best thing for us. I also wash their beds weekly, toys monthly and all food bowls and water fountains daily along with sweeping every other day. Oh and spraying Febreeze on stuff really helps too. I am a bit of a clean freak myself, I love to have the house smelling nice and looking good. I hope you can figure out something that helps you!! Good luck!! |
