What colour do you think Jeanie will be? 3 Attachment(s) I loved reading the thread of the other lady asking about her baby.........so much expertise on this website!! I don't know anything about Yorkies, officially, only that I love them and I think they are cute. I don't know what "proper" markings are, or any of that stuff. Just curious what colour you all think Jeanie will be........She is 10 months now.....I tihnk she is going to stay very much like she is now. I have a pic of her, and then her mom and her dad......to see what comments you may all have. This is fun |
I think her face will be more golden, she is gorgeous! |
Thank you! Anyone else?? |
I think she will be black and gold |
color Hi...her head and face should clear somewhat more over time, slowly..but she will most likely stay quite dark on her saddle..her eye flash is warm, so it does indicate a softer, cotton coat...she is a pretty girl! |
Wow!!!...She's a dark one!!!...I love the dark coats, she's beautiful! |

She's a doll. She looks black and gold to me. Does she have any silver in the black on her body? If so, she smight be blue and gold. If she is AKC you can see what her sire and dam and ancestors are and that might tell you. BTW, how are the ears doing? :) |

She has NO silver in her back. She is black and black all the way through. That's why I think she will stay that way :) Her ears are still taped up - so don't know what will happen yet till we take them down. But they stand up with the tape in them. And when I look at the pictures of her parents, they both look like her a lot, with perky ears. Her parents are so cute. I love her dad - his name is Buster.....isn't he cute!! |

How long have you been taping her ears? I've read that if they're not standing by 6months of age, it probably won't work because the cartilage in the ears is set (?don't know the proper terminology for that) by that age. I taped my female yorkies' ears shortly after we got her for 2-4 weeks;a week at a time, and they stand up great. So taping does work if done soon enough. I didn't know about that trick with my first yorkie so his ears flop down halfway. Good luck with your yorkies ears. BTW, she looks like she will stay black as night....love it! |
Jeanie is a really beatiful girl. I usually say that I like dark-coated yorkies better regardless what the standard says. Black-coated yorkies tend to have a cottony texture and they look very impressive because they look like they have lots of hair. I guess she will lighten up a little as she grows older but not much. Like somebody else said, I don't think it's still necessary for you to have her ears taped because the ear leather must be fully mature by that age and it either stands up or flops down. Anyway, she's a beauty and I guess she'll have floor lenght hair before long. Post more pics of her. Rubi |
Hi - and thanks for the comments! Actually, our groomer (new groomer) just taped them really for the first time. I had tried a long time ago, but didn't know what to do. She said it can still happen, so I am giving it a try - and this will be it. I'm ok with them down too. Many say she is beautiful BECAUSE of her ears down....looks like long flowing hair. So either way I'm fine. The groomer could be wrong I guess - that it could still happen???? :idontknow And I do love her coat.............she's just my little beauty. Standard or not :) |
She's beautiful I love her full coat. :D |
