Possible for some teeth to NEVER come in? As many of you know, Lily is my very special little girl. She is almost 8 months old and has been very slow to develop physically due to her medical problems. A few of her baby teeth never came in but my vet just kept saying to wait and they would come in. At this point, they are still not in and she has only had 1 adult tooth (a canine) come in which was weeks ago. Well recently, I again asked about her teeth coming in and the response I got this time was, Hmmm, let me look into this. What the heck  Is it possible that she may never get all of her teeth? She can barely eat dry food as it is. Has anyone ever seen this before? |
my Tootie is missing the teeth in the middle of his mouth, both upper and lower... he just didnt get teeth in these spaces.. it doesnt stop him from tearing up EVERTHING.... the vet told me that he simply didnt develop teeth there, no real explanation... d |
Thanks so much for the post! I am so glad that she is not the only one. Its the back teeth I'm really concerned about because she has so much trouble eating as it is. Her back molars haven't even started to come in but I guess those still could since she is only a month behind with those. I guess if the front teeth could fail to develop then any of them could as well. It was the latest response from my vet that made me start to worry. I was afraid that my baby might be some kind of anomaly. My poor little baby may be nothing be gums. I guess I could just call her my little Gummi Bear :D |
This is possible! In humans and dogs alike. |
Yes, one of mine never developed her adult teeth on the lower front middle. She has a couple of extra on the top. I guess the teeth got confused. |
