Off the puppy growth chart? My husband just called and told me that Gizmo weighed 5 lbs. today! He is 21 weeks old. When I look at the puppy growth chart, it looks like he's off the chart. The vet told my husband that Gizmo is not overweight or underweight, but rather JUST RIGHT. So, are we looking at the most gorgeously handsome little teapot around? :) Or, is this a normal growth spurt that happens at around 5 months? At this rate, he is gaining a pound a month! lol I don't mind, but I think I will need a larger carrier sooner than we thought. :D |
Sounds like a growth spurt to me. I'd guess he'll be around 7 lbs. |
Thanks. I appreciate the info. :) |
I'm thinking gorgeous teapot!!!!!!!!!!! :D My teapot weighed 4 lb at 15 weeks. Now, sh'es just shy of 10 lb at 10 months. |
Well, no matter what, he'll still be handsome! :D |
I would expect growth spurts up to a year, maybe 18months. At any rate - be he teapot or standard, him definitely IS a gorgeous l'il guy! Abbie sends *kisses* ;) |

Sounds like Gizmo will be around 10-12lbs:D Yipeee another Teapost friend for Buddy! Buddy was 6.5 at 23wks and gained 1lb ea month until approx 1yr and remained 13.5 for two years. Vet said he was 15.5lbs in May. I think his scale was wrong. Who gains 2lbs in a year at age 2? |
Gizzy says that he'll be happy to be a teapot if he's healthy and can be friends with a great guy like Buddy! Whoohoo...you made his day! :D |

Judy, I am so happy to hear that Gizzy might be able to join the "teapot" club. :D As Carol said, " Yipeee another teapot buddy ". :woof: All 14 and a half pounds of Rudy, welcomes Gizzy. But just in case he doesn't get that big, you tell him we would be happy to have him in the "teapot" club anyway. :) :aimeeyork |
Awww Gizmo is adorable at any size...all yorkies, tiny, small and bigger are all adorable ....:D |
