Found 2 Yorkies in the park, NY Queens 2 Attachment(s) I was taking Rocky for a walk in a park in Queens and a cop approcahed me and asked if i knew who owned those two yorkies running around in the park not to far from us. I went to take a look and found two male grown yorkies running around. A family that was BBq ing near by picked them up and were giving them water by the time I came up to them. It was very sad, they lookied like they where out for a month at least, their hair was all tangled and long. But the dogs were very nice, and playfull. I was about to take them with me to a friends house who would try to find a home for them, but the family that got them first said they would gladly take them. At this point I felt really bad for not being able to take them home with me, but I couldnt since I have a small appartment and Rocky is there all the time. I wanted to make sure the dogs will be taken care of, so I checked the guys ID, he was an EMT worker for city of NY and I got his name and phone number. I told him if he doesnt want the dogs, I will pick them up myself and take them in with no problems, just dont let them out on the street and abandon them again. he was fine with that and said that they will be ok. Now from what it looks like, i think they were abandoned by a store or someone who didnt care for them much, as both of them were not neuterd and both of them were males. Also the park is surrounded by highways no local streets, so i doubt both of them made it accross a road without getting hit, so them must have been droped off. I will call them today and find out how things are going for them. And some pics of Rocky now. |
Oh no how sad for them ! I hope they get the care and attention they need - are you going to keep in touch with the other people ??? |
How awful, but hopefully this family will make sure they're taken care of. I'm glad you got their info so you can check up on them. Please give updates. |
How sad! I hope that the people will be able to keep them, are you going to keep in tough to make sure that they can care for them? |
I'd love to hear updates |
How very sad to think that some one would dump their defenseless yorkies in the park, the least they could have done is put them in a no kill shelter and let them be adopted to a family that will care for them and really wants them. Sooooooo many people want yorkies, that I pray they get a wonderful home, that will keep them for their life, and work out any problems that lead to the people dumping them! My heart aches for them. I hope you keep us posted on who they will be living with. |
Wow, how sad, I hope they get some love and attention, keep us posted. |
How many Yorkies are roaming the streets of NY? A friend of mine who works in the city saw a Yorkie all matted walking down the street yesterday. She took it back to work with her and called the # on the tag. Someone answered and stated they had no dog and hung up. Thinking she dialed wrong # dialed again and got the same story!. One of the girls in her office wanted him immedaitely so now this little one has a new home. Do people just toss them outside to fend for themselves when they are tired of them? Seems like it. |
some people need beatens thats all... a real good one at that.. keep us updated on those babies... |
Awe, he wants those 2 little buddies to play with. How sad that someone would abandon their babies:( ! |
I hope they'll be alright. Did you get the guys phone number. |
WOW, I'm going to NY next tuesday, if I find some does anyone want them:D Seriously, some people just need a good kick in the @ss. |
I'm glad that someone found them before they got i9nto the street. what lucky people they were to find such a treasure. |
I can't even imagine just dropping my yorkies (or any dog, for that matter) off like that!! I hope that the people take good care of them and spoil them like they deserve! |
