pup has 2 rows of teeth/is this normal??? [F]My 7 month old 2 lb. yorkie puppy has not lost his baby teeth yet but permanent teeth are coming in. It looks wicked. Should I be concerned about this, or has anyone else had this happen? Thanks for your help. P.S. I'm a 1st time toy dog owner.:aimeeyork [/FONT] |
His baby teeth should be removed by the vet or his adult teeth will all go crooked. There won't be enough room for them to come in properly. |

Thought about keeping him for breeding. He doesn't have show dog lineage, just so small thought others would want to breed to other small yorkies. What are the pros and cons in your opinion? |
JMO  I think he is too small. |
Thanks. JYO is what I wanted. My vet gave me cons such as 'more aggressive toward humans' and wondered what kind of answer I would get from an actual Yorkie owner. You've been so kind to quickly respond. I appreciate it. Have a great day!!:aimeeyork |
I agree with your vet. Also, they won't be YOUR puppy anymore. They'll be chasing tail and marking, too. I'd neuter.;) |
Ahhh Monster mouth...This is not uncommon but the teeth need to be removed. Bruce had to have 6 baby teeth out when he was nuetered and it did not even phase him... I would reccomend having any dog that (a) does not have full registration, (2)whoose bloodlines are not well known, (3) is not to the breed standard for things like weight, top line, etc. nuetered...It is healthier for the dog (no testicular cancer risk, etc.) and just a good practice in my opinion. |
