Are they any other yorkies out there who love ice??? I had no idea how much our girls would like it until today after they had been outside and were hot and sweaty...I gave them a piece in their water bowl to help cool it off...well I turned my back for a second and they had taken the ice out of the bowl and were chewing on it like crazy...at first I couldn't figure out what they had, but once I got close I knew, as the floor was wet under them...but the loved it...plus it cooled them off fast!!! Has anyone else ever experienced this before???

I LOVE to eat ice. As soon as Cooper (the lil' one) hears me crack the first piece after drinking my drink, he is barking at my feet! He goes crazy if I don't share with him!!

Lucy loves ice when it is hot! She loves to lie in the sun and just lick an ice cube to keep herself cool and sometimes she sits on them to cool her down (I mean you think she would just sleep in the shade!)

Sammi could be in the front of the house and hear the*refrigerator (makes ice) which is in the back of the house and she RUNS like wildfire into the kitchen!! And if u dont give her a piece she will bark until she gets one!!

i always give my furbaby ice water and frosty paws doggie ice cream. when it's really hot he carries the ice in his mouth and walks around with it

I have both of my grandbabies hooked too (they were hooked at an extremely EARLY age!).

All of my children are ice eaters too because of me!

i personally cant eat ice...hurts my teeth but my best friends boxer will wait by the fridge and by golly you better give her a piece of ice before you get any if not she just carries on and on....hyper dog but very cute

When Chewy is hot and he won't drink water, I hold an ice cube for him and he goes nuts licking it. Chewy is too small to actually hold the cube in his mouth but my pug used to run around with cubes all the time.

Mine love ice cubes. They chew them, slide them across the floor to chase them, lick them and I swear they try to see who can hold one in their mouth longest. LOL

Ice in the Water Dish Equals ....The New Hockey Rink in the kitchen...

I thought it was so cute you posted about that - Mine LOVE ice and will play with it till it melts ....then I mop the floor with them :eek: ....just kidding ....But they do get to chase the towel when I wipe up the mess....

Also Ice in a Cup is BIG fun to yorkies ....they love sticking their whole face in there

LOL We've had a few of those hockey games in the kitchen. Whats a little water on the floor, better than pee-pees. ;)

I have one of those fridge's that have the 'ice& water' in the door....as soon as I put my cup under the spout Lil Bit will wake up from a sound sleep and be under my feet instantly!!!!!!

Not a day goes by that a piece of two doesn't get dropped in the floor.....but now rather than bend over and pick it up and take it to the sink.....I just watch Lil Bit take off like she just won the "MOTHER-OF-ALL-PRIZES" and races around with it and throws it and licks and chews....

Maybe I should care about the ice melting on the floor or even in the carpet....but (as mentioned before) compared to a bit of pee and what the grandkids spill it is really nothing!

Mine, too. As soon as she hears the crushed ice coming out of the dispenser, she is there waiting for hers, too. :p
