Promiscuous Girls? I have read a few threads tonight about female yorkies that "have their way" with stuffed animals and other "friends"...just wondered how common this is? Neither of my furgirls are "humpers" (YET!), but I have seen other female dogs do this occasionally, and I thought it was weird since mine don't do this. Also, if they do, why do they do it-is it a dominance thing or a pleasure thing or what? The most my dogs have done is mount each other in play, but never for more than a second or two, and it's usually accompanied by growling, running and barking, so I know it's just for fun. Are you supposed to let them have their fun, or stop it? |
I can't tell you because like yours mine don't hump either. So, we will find out together the reason. |

to answer your question - Magilla the Gorilla is on his 3rd girlfriend - Chanel isn't his first so I think he has that 'animal magnetism' LOL he's a little worse for wear & been bugging me for a complete Face Lift but I had to tell him no - Chanel would miss him too much...she has a hissy fit when he goes into the wash and a BIGGER hissy fit when she saw him with his arm around Beach Babe here |

Your "yorkie smiles" pics from Chanel and her reasoning behind the smile is one of the promiscuous furgirls I'm posting about! |
Promiscuous Girls? Gracie has humped her stuffed bulldog, Handsome Dan, nearly every night before bed since she was a puppy--and she's 5 1/2 years old now. He used to be bigger than she. She never bothers with him during the day--only right before bedtime. Hmmm...at first we tried to get her to stop it but she wouldn't so we just gave up. It's gotten to the point of being a ritual with her...kinda OCD-ish...lol. I've read that "alpha" females do hump, and it's to demonstrate dominance. Of course, Gracie's only dominance is over a stuffed bulldog. |
London has tried to hump Teddy and Sophia but I always stop her. I think it's a dominance issue. |
1 Attachment(s) Zoey is 5 mo old. She started when she was about 3 and 1/2 mo old. She has an Anne Geddis like bunny rabbit with a babies face on it.(it's actually kind of creepy) It is her "special friend." She runs around really fast and she will bite really hard right before hand. She usually beats the Cr@p out of the bunny before she assaults it. It is def. a dominance thing with her! We always tell her no. Hoping she will outgrow it! |
avie started doing this at about 3 months as well.. we got her a lil bunny type stuffed animal-that is her size. i have heard it is a dominance thing as well-but i dont know. it creeps me out so i distract her so she stops. (it seems like a trend though.. everyone else has bigger stuffed animals too, which their puppies have at it with) haha. :) |
Maya has been doing it too. I stop her by takeing her oversized stuffed friend away. My daughter freaks out whenever she sees it, screaming: Maya is rubbing her butt on it. :D LOL |

I guess we should be calling Chanels Humpy Toy - Mangy Magilla ???:D |
It's definatelly a dominance thing... I had a female poodle that used to "get in charge" of others dogs (male or female) :D :D |
My poodle is a happy humper. She'll hump anything that doesn't move. I gave up trying to stop her. She must be getting something out of it. |
My girl doesn't do that yet, but with Aubrey I made him stop, to me thats bad behavior.. and I would be VERy embarassed if someone came over and he started humping... |
