Shaking Ok, I have had Dakota for almost two weeks. She shakes a lot, I understand that she will shake when I bathe her, but she shakes when shes in my lap, and I have to hold her for a while for her to stop. But if I am in the living room, and shes in there with me, she wil jsut start to shake. What does this mean? She gets held ALL the time. She will also run back to her cage, a lot. Aubrey use to be real gentle, but I think that he thinks shes a big girl and she can play rough... . Sometimes she acts like shes scared of me, I am SOOO confused, Aubrey was def. not like this. Should they be totally opposite? |
aww poor little thing. she is probably very overwhelmed. as long as she is eating and drinking... checking her gums to make sure they are pink (if not try nutrical) she may even need that just to boost her energy.... when Layla shakes i wrap her tight in a big blanket. it usually calms her down. you might also try putting her in her crate with a heating bag or something and a favorite toy (did she come home with one fromt he breeders??) and give her some quiet time |
No, I got my two from the same breeder, and I asked the breeder to give me a toy and a blanket, just like she did with Aubrey, and she didn't :(. But she was going through some through some things, her sisters son got in a terrible car accident that week.. so she was really upset. So I didn't even say anything. Shes little, and Aubrey is a little rough with her. Shes laying in my lap now and shes fine. She ate a little while ago, I don't really have a problem with that. Its just at times she will act like shes really scared of me :(. |
Copper was alot like you are describing for the first little bit, he has grown out of the shaking unless he is really cold or uneasy. Thank goodness because I was really worried. My vet office carries these collars; Dog Appeasing Pheromone (DAP), is what they are called, it helped so much I would check your vet or google it. The results were almost instant and it lasts for 4 weeks. I wont ever bring home a new puppy with out one again, it helped that much. I helped with him getting used to everything and by the time the collar had worn out he had built up alot of confidence. Typical yorkie now! N-E-Ways it is definately worth the try. |
awwwwww it will probably take her a little while to get used to her new surroundings. Jake used to be scared of alot of things, like the vacuum cleaner. Now he tries to chase it around. |
Ok, Thanks. I am about to call them!! |
