Trouble with training on peepads My little girl Cassie is 1 year old and I have trained her to peepads. Sometimes she is so good and other times she goes off of them about 6 in. away from box. Lately she has gotten worse and has been going in different places. Funny thing though she doesn"t try to hide the fact that she did wrong. She knows and goes into her little spot to wait for me to find it. Big problem is when I have to go away and stay overnight at someone else's house, she pulls some of her stunts there and it can be embarressing.Does anyone one have any suggestions on what I can do to get her turned around. |
Do you reward her for going in the right spot?? We found with Sailor that if you reward her then she will do it right, but if you stop and just let her do it on her own she will go off...i don't know if this will work for you, but it helps us out alot!! |
I would get her some of those cute doggy underpants for when you take her to someones house. |
The trick to pee pad training is.... CHEERIOS. Every time she made it on the pad, she got a cheerio (just one single cheerio). Worked like MAGIC! She's 7 months and she still comes to me looking for her cheerio after she does her stuff on the pad. She scratches my leg and looks at me like "Hey lady! I peed on the pad, where's the cheerio?" Amazing what these babies will work for. |
When I have seen her go somewhere else I pick her up and take her to the wee wee pad. But yet she is stubborn, she keeps doing it wherever she feels like it. The poo is another story I have never been able to get her to go on the wee wee pad. |
