Max gained l lb 13 ounces in 2 months! I took Max to the vet yesterday for his rabies shot. He weighs 10 pounds!!! He weighed 8.3 pounds in June and he's 16 months old already. He may never stop growing and I'll have to move and get a barn for him. He still looks so little to me. Interesting facts - the rabies shot is now good for 3 years - it's really good for 7 according to some research, but my vet said 3. The yucky eye boogers could very well be a seasonal allergy. She checked and sees no infection, but said they could ease up after the summer. I hope so! Oh yeah - he's in great shape! They call him "The Maxster" there. He's super-friendly. |

He's a real cutie. |
Oh My! He really hit a growth spurt!! Jaxon hopes the clothes we sent will fit!!! LOL!! Regardless, we think the Maxster is a cutie pie!! |
Oh they do fit. I have to post pictures. Gracie can wear them if he has to join the rodeo. But I weighed him on my scale by deducting his weight from mine when I hold him and he weights 7.5 pounds on my scale. Are vets' scale that accurate? I know my weight is not he same as my doctor's scale, but this is my weight holding him, minus my weight not holding him. I may need either a new scale or to ignore the vet's scale, because he hasn't been eating well in this heat. I have, so we'll just leave out my weight from this podt altogether! |

Oh my I'm sure he will stop growing. Just think the more he grows the more of him there is to love. |
I think he's adorable...I LOVE his little face. So cute. :) |

HAHA, your post made me laugh. I'm so happy he's nice and healthy. :D My pekingese is about 15 lbs and to me he's still a little guy. ;) Your baby is adorable!!! Give him kisses from all of us!!! :) |
They did use the big dog scale. Are they off for the little ones? I love that he's nice and solid and don't mind his being 10 pounds, but I can't understand the difference between the 2 scales. If my house scale is so poorly made that even the difference in weight between me holding him and not is off, it has to go! It does make me weigh too much anyway. I knew I was really 110 lbs - stupid scale! I don't need those Lean Cuisines in the fridge now. |
You know whats funny? My boys had their growth spurt when they were over a year old also! In Dec they got their rabies (good for 3 years) and fletcher weighed 6.2lbs and Dexter weighed 4.2lbs and now Fletch weighs 8lbs at least, maybe 8.5 and Dex is 5lbs! (not much on dex) but from Dec - May fletch gained about 2lbs and he was already 1 year 3 months old in Dec! :) |
[QUOTE=judyeve;1293416]Oh they do fit. I have to post pictures. Gracie can wear them if he has to join the rodeo. LOL All I can imagine is when the have a monkey dressed like a cowboy riding a dog!! What a site:D Max is handsome at any weight....I love that Yorkies come in all shapes and sizes! |
We have a toy monkey. Maybe I can get Max an agent! |
My vet's office just uses those big step on scales too and I know they aren't accurate for small dogs. I took Libby to the vet...can't remember her age, but she weighed 3.3. I took her back about 3 1/2 weeks later and guess what she weighed...3.3! I know that wasn't right because she'd been growing and gaining and I was weighing her at home on my Grandpa's old fashioned scale and it is pretty accurate. I can't understand why they don't use baby scales for the little dogs. Max is darling! You should take him to the post office and weigh him on their postage scale! |
I love that they call him "The Maxster." That's so cute. Our vet's scale has also been off. Wes has been weighed on the big dog scale and it will read differently depending on where he is standing on it. No matter what Max really weighs, he is a total doll! |
