Yorkie mixed beed Hello, everyone I come feeling very grateful for a website dedicated to these beautiful dogs, however I have an issue I adopted an abused stray a couple of months ago, an while she is not a full blooded yorkie--she does have the facial characteristics, and personality of a yorkie. She and I bonded immediately and unfortunately when she(Little Bit) came into heat last month my beagle locked-up with her. Little Bit is definitely pregnant--she is approximately 7 weeks and has already gone from 9 pounds to 15. I am on a very tight budget, but I am concerned that she petite to give birth to beagle mix puppies. I took her to the vet last Saturday and all he would say is what I already knew--pregnant, Terrier--bring her back in 2 weeks and hope for a large litter as that will decrease the size of each pup. What I need to know is if it is likely Little Bit can give birth without the assistance of a vet. Based on what I have learned on the internet I am planning to be with her when she goes into labor which should be around the 16th of August.. Se has always been clingy but she is becoming needier. If she needs to go to the vet she will I just need some advise on the probability of a safe home labor. Any additional sites you could recommend would be greatly appreciated. |
I don't have any answer for you, but I'll bump you up. There are so many knowledgeable people here. Best of luck. |
I hope someone can give you the info your looking for. Prayer's coming that you girl will have a safe delivery. I would most diffenately have the vet available for an emergency. It would be horrible if your female could not deliver those pups on her own. Please don't hesitate to rush her to the vet. Forget the $ and make sure she's safe. That should be the first thing to think about. Good luck. |
Welcome to YT glad you joined. |
i would definetly contact a vet.. dont take any chances... |
I would talk with your vet, and see if he thinks it will be safe. |
problem Welcome to YT... There are no sites that can predict the outcome of any breeding..purebred or mixed. I realize you are on a tight budget, but being the person responsible for the occurence, you must have her vetted to the best of your ability. She needs an xray at 8 weeks to determine the size of the skulls..and their likelihood of passing through the pelvic opening. Do not leave her alone the last week of gestation...call teh vet the minute anything does not go correctly..and spay her. You are a nice person to give her a loving home...she needs a lot of help now. Best wishes |
