How do you clean their toys?? Hi YT lovers!! I just wonder how do you clean your furbabies' toys?? Also, how often do you clean them?? |
|
I put all the cloth ones in the washer on delicate setting. Then I put them in the dryer on low heat. Even the ones with the squeekers come out beautiful - and the squeekers still work. The latex and all, I use a small amount of bleach mixed with water (my friend worked at a day care center, and that is how they cleaned their toys). I make sure they are rinsed well. |

I put the puzzle toys in the dishwasher. Otherwise we rotate the stuffed toys and when they get crusty we tend to pitch them. I never thought about the washing machine - that's a great idea. They tend not to chew on their stuffed toys. We just play fetch with them. The ones they chew up loose stuffing anyway so we just throw those out. |

2 Attachment(s) Stick 'em in the washing machine with a wee bit of disinfectant mixed in with the washing liquid and then hang 'em on the rack in front of your heater to dry.....My 3 doggies usually whine below rack until they are dry enough to give them, or sometimes they manage to reach one and take off with it ! I do mine when they are mingin....I give them one each at a time until they are all dirty - taking away the dirty ones after a day, and then they all get washed together. :animal-pa Debra x x x x |

I use the washing machine for the cloth ones or throw away the torn ones and buy new. The latex ones go into the dishwasher and come out squeaky clean. |

I throw the fuzzy/plush toys in with their bedding, blankets, clothes, and towels, so I'm doing a full load of laundry, not just toys alone... The rubber toys like Kongs, nylabones, etc., I put on the top rack of the dishwasher. My dishwasher has a "sanitize" cycle, (for baby bottles, medical stuff) so I put it in there with my dishes, and I don't worry about sharing dog germs at all! |

 oh okay! ;) |

We also wash Miko's toys in the washing machine and dry on low heat :) But the rubber ones get washed in the sink or in the dishwasher. I don't think Febreeze is enough to disinfect the toys and clean them. |

My brother works for Febreeze parent co and it is not a danger to pets.....but it also doesnt clean them either...it is for the air or softlines ( carpet, pilloes, curtains...)depending on the kind your purchase. As for washing I wash with my dogs bath towels, any puppy clothing and any extra towels. The dryer is where the germs are killed. Placing them in the sun will kill th e germs as well. Freezing kill germs, and the bleach mix mentions kills germs.....I used to run a preschool and had to use the methods regularly...to all toys and equipment.:aimeeyork |

Well we have a bunch of toys so whenever anything gets messed up we just toss it in a pile in the laundry room. Once we have a large enough pile, which includes toys, blankets, and dog clothes I wash them with some detergent on the gentle cycle. What can be dryed I usually dry with a load of towels in the dryer and the rest gets hung up. Usually I remove a toy when it starts looking dirty then wash them when I have a big enough pile. |
