Exercise? What do you do to exercise your puppy if you cannot take him on his first walk for another couple of weeks? |

When Conner couldn't go outside, we woud play "I'm going to get you" and I would throw the ball and he would chase it and bring it back. It is so much easier now to go for a walk in the park. |
Izzy still is small and has a small mouth - but I found that soft toys with either long legs or bungy-type legs works best. I start by playing tug with her and then when she has a good gripe of one of the legs or ears of something - I start to slide her across our kitchen floor. Pretty good exercise there and then as others said I start tossing the toy or ball back and forth from one end of the room to the other. Have your BF sit opposite of you with enough space to do that. Or you can get a cat (ha...ha - we have 3) and Izzy chases the around like crazy from the day she came to us. This is Izzy chasing cats.......:cat4: :animal37 |
Yorkies make exercise out of everything!! Coby wears me out the way he does ANYTHING! But aside from the usual games of fetch and catch, you can also give him things to work on. They have several toys that you can put food in. They have to sort of chase the toy around to get the food to come out. I also put peanut butter inside of a long bone or in a kong toy that takes work to get to it. You can also put some kibble or treats inside of an empty paper towel tube and masking tape up the ends. They have a good time trying to figure out how to get to the treats. I'm seriously going to consider trying to train him on the treadmill before the cold midwestern winter gets here. Anyone have any experience with that???? |
