Apparently I was mistaken I was under the impression that when I told Susanah to "come" it means that I wanted her to walk/run to me. It meant I wanted her to go from wherever she was to where I was. For a little while that's the way it worked. Not lately though. These days "come" means run like holy terrorized bat out of hell everywhere EXCEPT to me. Then when I finally get she has the nerve to look for her treat. I told her she doesn't get a treat because she didn't do what she was supposed to do. Then she looks at me like, "You're kidding me, right? Seriously, Mom, where's my treat? Lady don't make me go all rottweiler on you! I want my treat!" |
That is too funny! |
:lol tears That is too funny! I bet she gives you the cutie pie face when she realizes she's not getting her treat.. Haha! |
Oh yeah she does. When she really wants something and I tell her no, as soon as she realizes the tough act won't get her anywhere, she turns on the charm. "Look at me, Mommy! Look how sweet I am. I can bat my eyelashes. Want to see, Mommy? Do you want to see me bat my eyelashes? Do you want kisses? I give good kisses, Mommy. I love you so much. Can I have my treat?" Yes, it works. |

Max's treat sits tantalizingly on the kitchen table while he sits just outside the kitchen door trying to "cute" me into letting him have it. When I say "come" though, it means right to me, then sit and you get your treat. It seems like this will be a lifetime struggle but it is so cute. Having been a high school teacher, I am able to put away the treat if he doesn't do what I want. This has nothing to do with him ever doing it. He is a yorkie! |
Patience and persistence will win out in the end. Tell her if she goes wild on you, you'll turn into a tiger and roar real loud. LOL |
Well, Murfee is 3 and still thinks "come" means ok I can go anywhere I want and they will eventually come and get me. Not 5 minutes ago we had this conversation when both my husband and I were calling him and he decided he wanted to see the horses and you know what, i guess that is what it really means 'cause dh went and got him. |
