When I come home.... So, whatever I come home from work or we have visitors over, Chloe always get so excited and pee!! How do I stop this behavior?? Help!! Thanks!!:animal-pa |
I don't know how old Chloe is but my little boy Sonny, now 3, done this when he was a pup but he just stopped doing it on his own. I guess he learned to control his bladder. If she is young maybe she will out grow it too. I used to warn guest that he pees when he gets excited. Maybe someone on here can give you better advice as how to stop it. Good luck. |

4 Attachment(s) Out of my three, only Tara will do this when someone speaks to her when she is in the car, and she gets excited....yet she never has accidents at any other time. It's usually just drips or a dribble, but it's annoying. She is 7 now, so I don't expect things to change now, and it only happens rarely anyway.....but yes, I would think the best thing to do is get her to empty her bladder just before the visitors come in, or immediately you get home, lift her and take her out - hopefully it's just cause she is young yet. I saw an episode of "It's Me or the Dog" not too long ago where a dog did this when the owners came home. The trainer's 'remedy' for this was to totally ignore the dog when you get home. Do not look at the dog, do not speak to the dog until the dog settles down. (I know, it's TOUGH TO DO)Apparently, when we come home the dogs are on super excitement mode and when we fawn over them when we enter the house it just gets the dog that much more excited and some dogs pee with excitment! So the hope is that once the dog learns that you are not going to play into their excitement, the peeing will stop. This is not to say that after you are in the house for awhile and the dog's excitment level comes down a notch or two that you can't then give them loving. Just don't do it when you walk in the door. Wait awhile. This method did work for the dog on TV so give it a try. You have nothing to lose. |
