Puppy Coat Color ? I just bought a 4 month old Yorkie, he is a doll! I was told he would likely stay black and tan and have a thick wooly coat like my other yorkie. I know this is not standard and there is no guarantee on color. He has a very fine black coat with grey underneath and a very light face, the top of his head has very thin white and grey hair you can see his scalp. Don't get me wrong he is absolutely adorable, I am just wondering what color he may be? I was told if he has white on the top of his head he will be silver, is this true? I don't care if he is green, just wondering.. Any opinions?? Thanks |
2 Attachment(s) My first Yorkie was black/tan then his head turned WHITE. Very white, not silver. He never got old enough to know if his body would be silver. he was only 11 months old when I lost him. Heres pics of him for you to compare. First at 10 months 2nd when he was 5 months |
1 Attachment(s) Hi! Thank you for your response. I am so sorry to hear about your loss. He is absolutely adorable! I have a 5 year old also, Otis, He is the light of my life. Here is a picture of Otis at 4 years and a picture of the newest member of our family, Jaz 4 months. I was told he would resemble my Otis and was very short and stocky and would likely stay black and tan, not true... I am not sure what color he will be.. but he is a doll. I am not sure if I am posting correctly,.. but here goes.. |
OOPS.. The picture of my new baby Jazz did not go through, says the file is to large. I don't know how to change the size? |
1 Attachment(s) OK, It is not the best picture but here Here is a picture of Jazz at 4 months.. |
new puppy Will you be unhappy with your Yorkie if he does not look like Otis? IMO Jazzy will be a different type then Otis..different coat texture, perhaps even much lighter..he will no doub be bigger and have bigger features, such as ears, muzzle..but none the less, he has the potential to be a terrific pet as you want...I just do not see them looking alike...JMO.. Best wishes |
To be entirely honest, we were a bit disappointed, as we took our time and searched for what we were looking. He was described as a teddybear yorkie, short, stout, babydoll, small features, thick wooly coat, stay black and tan, about 5lb... Jaz was not what we were expecting, But we are NOT unhappy at all, He is adorable, a Great dog, he has stolen my heart... we love him to pieces!!! Thank you for your response! |
puppy I am happy my opinion did not upset you...if you ask me a question, I will tell you and sometimes people do not like my answers..both your Yoekies are special and one of a kind, just the way all our Yorkies should be... |
