Too close for comfort!!! I just left my house to go pick up lunch for me and my son. My garage door didn't close right away, so I had to stop and try again. As I was watching the door close, something caught my eye. At first, I thought it was a parrot--you know, those large ones that people keep as pets. The kind that don't sit in a cage, but sit on a perch in someone's living room. When I looked again, I saw it was NOT a parrot... It was a HAWK! Perched on my gate! The dogs were inside, but I called my son and told him not to take the dogs out for potty or anything. It was actually a smallish hawk; I don't think it could have picked up these dogs, but still... ...perched!...on my own gate! |
 I've heard alot of hawks and dogs case...... the dogs always the victim.....especially little ones....... I have hawk perching in our swing set and fence and light post.... They are small and scary..... imagine sharp beaks and claws.... don't want to scare you but it's true... |
Hawks...they are my biggest worry for some reason!! I'm scared to death of them and hate to think of them taking someone's puppy...Ugh, horrible. I've managed to make all of my kids paranoid too. :) |

That is SO scary! I would FREAK! This is one of the primary reasons why Violet is being trained to go INside. We have a lot of hawks in the area that I live in. In fact, I saw one last week that I swear was as big as a 5 year old CHILD -- it was crazy. Cheryl |
Good thing you were alert and paid attention to the message you were sent. I think that's exactly what it was and that we are sent messages all the time. Most of the time we are too busy and go about our way when we should stop and listen. You did good!! The hawk may have been too small, but ya never know! |
