Just tell her this: the puppy needs to be free fed, which means the food should be left out ALL the time. He also needs to have fresh, clean water out ALL the time. If he does not have this, he will die. Take the info that someone else provided you about hypoglycemia and give it to her. Tell her if she does not take care of this puppy or feed him properly, you will report her. And, then do it!!! |

I agree with what was posted before. Make it clear to her that the puppy will die, tell her you will report her, and then follow through. It sounds to me like you aren't too terribly close to her, but that her husband even wanted you to take the dog...?... maybe since he agrees with you, he could tell her that the puppy will die, and he will find a caring home for the dog if she doesn't start treating him like a living creature. She would probably listen to him better than she would listen to you. I would work through him- give him the info to give to her etc. Maybe he could take the dog to a vet and have the vet even tell her- it sounds like the little guy needs to see a vet anyway. -O PS who thinks a puppy is sexy, anyway? |
i just pulled out all of coco's old puppy stuff and put it in a box to take to her if she refuses to let me help her i will just take the puppy out my uncle said it was okay for me to do so cause his sister is not right she herself is bulimic and sufering from an eating disorder she claims that she doesnt want her pup to be fat like mine she wants "louis vuitton" as she has named him to look "sexy" she feeds him about one teaspoon of dryfood a day but he doesnt eat it cause he's only one month he needs milk she doesnt understand that and it is really annoying to see this when i talked to her she said that im jeaslous cause her puppy is a tea cup and will win an award for being the smallest yorkie can you say crazy!!! i explained that there is no such thing as a tea cup but she continued with the your jealous cause you yorkie is obesse but coco isnt she's only 6 pounds ugh i am so tired of her. i tryed talking to her mom but she thinks im just envious of her daughter and there expensive pet shop pup ugh this is so fustrating that there are ppl like this in the world with mental issues she's had the pup for 4days now my aunt has had to sneek feed him nutrical to keep him from dieing im done venting sorry so long |

I saw a store out here selling a baby yorkie that was 2weeks old... :( I begged my hubby to let me get her...But they wanted $3000 for her. I wish you and that baby pup all the luck in the world! Keep us posted, and maybe someone should check that girl into an institute for people with eating disorders? |

TWO WEEKS OLD???! That's not even weaned yet. Grief. Those people should be shot. On sight. Seriously. Can you imagine what they'd be capable of doing to a skin kid? |
I don't even know what to say. Not only is the pup in REAL DANGER, but so is your Aunt-in-law - does her family realize how sick she is w/ not only bulimia, but also with respect to the disordered thinking that would result in basically starving a PUPPY over the puppy's "body image"??????? She is in serious need of help. HOW OLD IS SHE? I would strongly recommend that you obtain a letter from the vet stating the dog's poor/dangerous condition, then, w/ agreement from the rest of the family - REHOME this puppy so that it does not go back to her when she is "better", bc she will not be better for some time. Do not keep it in the family or it will likely cause continuing resentment and issues. Just please, don't do nothing by giving it back to her. |

Yeah, I was SHOCKED! The birth date said 7/14/07... I really wanted to just take her out of there and give her love. Wish I could have. I just hope whoever gets her knows how to take care of her! I do agree though... re-homing may be the best for family relations and to ease the "drama" that may go on. Best of luck! |
Honey, Just take the dog. Don't concern yourself with your relative's craziness. Take him to a vet and have the vet write out a letter that this dog has been starved and is suffering from malnutrition. You can call the police if you want and report her, but that puppy isn't going to live long enough for you to spend time posting on here and spending sleepless nights. I'm sorry if I sound harsh, but I just feel so bad for this dog. I understand your position, but this woman is wacko and cannot have a pet. You can't educate her - she's bulimic herself. Good luck, |
