quick help! I am only on here for about ten mintues... so I am hoping that someone can help me! My moms Yorkie is only walking on 3 legs.. she said she let it out... and when she came back in... it was only walking on 3 legs... I put pressure all up her legs and she didnt whimper or anything.. I dont see anything wrong- except that she will not walk on that foot! Any ideas? |
Did she possibly get bit or stung by something? Or, get something caught in her foot? |
Maybe there's a thorn in the paw? |
I would have her checked by the vet just to be safe. To many people I know recently have had dogs (big & small dogs) with broken or severely sprained legs. But first check her paw. Is something lodged in the pad or between the pads? |
Check her paw first, and if she's still limping in the morning I'd get her to the vet. |
she could have torn a ligament in her knee. When they hold the leg up its usually nothing to do with the foot itself. Its more likely a knee problem. Little dogs are prone to luxating patellas and this is what it might be. a vet would be able to tell by manipulation and x-rays |
Check her pads, maybe something got up between them or she snagged her nail on something. |
I had a Yorkie that did that and he had torn his ACl ligament. |
