Allergies---Atopic 1 Attachment(s) We were to the vet and My 9 month old Dixie has Atopic Allergies. The scratching and chewing kind. The vet is partly Holistic and he is trying to get to the root of the allergies and he has started out with this dog food----Royal Canine Skin support SS 21 and Shed- stop( for the antioxidants and vitamins) and Proanthozone caps. He is taking the less drastic measures first. So I will have to buy the dog food at the vet, but the other I can get cheaper on line. Some items the vets charge almost double.:( His dog has the same allergies and this treatment has worked on his dog. Who has a dog with allergies and what are you doing for your baby. One of my other furbabies has skin rashes, and has to be on pretezone. It works great. |

If you do a search, you'll probably get lots of good information on skin allergies. |
I'm so sorry your dog has allergies. It can become a very time-consuming and frustrating adventure trying to find help for your dog. I am disturbed that so many dogs of all breeds are coming down with allergies. I believe it's due to poor breeding. We had to put our dog to sleep two weeks ago today due to severe allergies. The vet said he would have to remain on Prednisone (steroids) for the rest of his life, but that alone would cause his health to deteriorate over time. I hope you find some help. This is a huge reason why I'm afraid to get another dog, although we are currently planning to get a Yorkie in a few months. But now I'm thinking twice about it.... |

How old was your dog and please tell me how your vet tried to help your dog. I believe it is due to poor breeding too. We are in our middle 70's and she was a Christmas gift from my daughter. We really didn't want another dog, but there she was and now we have all these problems along with a sick husband. Ginny |
